Descrição
Our foundation is a German charity organization with the aim of improving the living conditions of disadvantaged children and refugees from Myanmar by promoting health, education and a sustainable lifestyle. Since 2016 we are building educational projects in Myanmar, Sir Lanka and Thailand.
Fostering Growth, Connection, and Lifelong Learning:
The School opened its doors in 2022 with only a dream and a handful of students. Today, that dream has flourished into a thriving community with over 100 young learners, five new classrooms, six transformative educational programs spanning from primary school through high school, and a dynamic youth program that equips the students with skills for tomorrow. At the School, every day is a testament to the power of education to rebuild lives and spark brighter futures.
Unique Blend of Learning and Community :
The School stands out among the many other migrant schools for its close-knit community. Our school is more than an educational institution; it is a global learning community where international volunteers, local teachers, and students of all ages live, learn, and help together. This harmonious environment fosters safety, acceptance, and mutual respect among all members. As all our students are refugees from Myanmar who have had traumatic experiences in the past, it is essential to provide a secure home with a nurturing atmosphere.
In addition to our educational initiatives, we have established a large eco-farm, transforming our school into a vibrant park. This eco-farm, adorned with beautiful flower gardens and abundant vegetable patches, supplies fresh produce to our community daily. It stands as a symbol of sustainability and self-sufficiency, enriching both our diets and our surroundings.
Holistic Pedagogy and Project-Based-Learning:
Our unique teaching approach emphasizes on a holistic school environment and project-based learning methods. We maintain small classes of no more than twenty-five students, each supported by three teachers. This setup ensures weaker students receive the inclusive support they need and creates a remarkable class atmosphere where students from three different grades work and learn together in one classroom.
Our project-based learning approach focuses on teaching life skills and community service. Students engage in various activities, such as handicrafts, gardening, global citizenship, and Website design. They take on responsibilities and organize life-relevant projects, such as business ventures and family support initiatives. Moreover, we place particular emphasis on environmental care. Our flower gardens and lush green fields surround the classrooms and create a beautiful and nurturing learning environment, which emphasizes our responsibility for nature and sustainable practices and has earned us the title of a green eco-school.
At our school, we offer a diverse range of educational programs tailored to meet the needs of students from primary through high school. Beginning with our primary and middle school programs, students are immersed in a bilingual curriculum that blends Burmese tradition with modern teaching methods. Our high school programs, including the pre-GED (Grade 9) and GED (Grade 10), are conducted entirely in English, preparing students for the international high school diploma.
In addition to our core academic offerings, we provide after-school youth programs that equip students with 21st-century skills such as computer programming, software development, and various handicrafts. Our vocational training programs offer practical tailoring and sustainable agriculture skills, promoting holistic development beyond the classroom.Tipos de ajuda e oportunidades de aprendizado

The Volunteer Experience
Volunteering here in Thailand offers a unique opportunity to become part of an international community dedicated to supporting displaced Burmese children. It is more than just a teaching role—it is an immersive experience that blends humanitarian work, cultural exchange, and sustainable living. A Unique Community & Cross-Cultural Exchange
Workawayers live and help alongside local teachers, students, and fellow international volunteers. This creates a rich environment where ideas, skills, and cultures come together. The warm and welcoming Burmese spirit makes this experience deeply meaningful, as volunteers are embraced as part of the community.
Key Benefits for Volunteers
🌏 Cultural Exchange & Global Awareness
Volunteers immerse themselves in a unique environment, helping with students and teachers from diverse backgrounds. This fosters tolerance, empathy, and intercultural understanding.
📚 Teaching & Learning Opportunities
Whether assisting in classrooms, leading creative workshops, or supporting vocational training, volunteers gain teaching experience, leadership skills, and new perspectives on education.
💡 Skill Development
From eco-farming, handicrafts, and construction to computer programming, psychology, and language teaching, volunteers enhance their abilities while sharing their own expertise.
❤️ Making a Real Impact
Helping refugee children rebuild their lives through education is deeply fulfilling. Volunteers leave a lasting mark by improving students' futures and strengthening the local community.
🏡 Community & Connection
Living on campus, volunteers form lifelong friendships with fellow volunteers, teachers, and students, becoming part of a supportive and welcoming community.
🌱 Personal Growth & Reflection
Through self-awareness courses, teamwork, and meaningful service, volunteers gain confidence, resilience, and a renewed sense of purpose.
Eco-Living & Sustainability
Our eco-friendly campus, surrounded by nature, promotes sustainability and self-sufficiency. Volunteers can engage in organic farming, eco-building, and vocational training, contributing to a school environment that values both tradition and innovation.
Teaching & Learning in a Holistic Environment
Volunteers bring their skills in English, computer literacy, arts, or vocational training, helping students prepare for modern opportunities while staying connected to their Burmese roots. Small class sizes and interactive, project-based learning create an engaging teaching experience. At the same time, volunteers gain new skills, whether in education, practical crafts, or intercultural communication.
A Transformative Experience
Many volunteers describe their time here as life-changing—not only because of the impact they make, but also because of the deep relationships they build and the personal growth they experience. Living and helping in a community-driven, purpose-filled environment is both rewarding and inspiring.
It's not just about giving—it’s about growing, learning, and creating a brighter future together!Projetos que envolvem crianças

Ajuda
We welcome volunteers to support our team in building a better future for Burmese refugee children in Mae Sot.
Fields of Work
We teach over ten subjects. You will teach one or more of these subjects according to your interests and skills. One of our teachers or Managers will always be with you. Besides teaching the children, there are also other tasks like eco-farming buildings, etc.
1. English Classes
Practically everyone at school wants to learn English. You may not teach such motivated and grateful students anywhere else! You can teach English to whole classes or individuals and small groups, depending on your abilities. If you do not have much teaching experience, the teachers and children would be grateful if they could practice English with you.
One focus in the classroom is clear pronunciation. Many Burmese have a very strong accent. That is why we focus on "English conversation classes." These classes can range from "Hello, my name is ..." to an exciting political discussion, depending on your English skills and audience.
2. Computer Courses
We offer beginning and advanced technology courses. Many of the students have to be slowly introduced to the subject matter. We teach the usage of Office Programmes (e.g., Microsoft Office, Excel, Google applications, Photoshop, Video Cutting, etc.).
3. Civil Education
It's a wide subject! It's a mix of ethics, politics, and live skill teaching. We teach about bodily hygiene, plastic pollution, human rights, and societal tolerance.
4. Art Class
If you are a creative person who likes to draw, paint, and try out new things, you probably want to join the art class. The aim is not only to enhance the children's creativity but also to teach them life skills. Waving a carpet or creating lamps from bamboo is taught in the same way as hip-hop dance and theater.
6. Organic Farming Class
If you like helping with plants in the field, you will be in good hands with our Eco-Farming project. The same holistic approach is applied to food. To eat healthy food, we need to grow and harvest it ourselves. The Children receive theoretical and practical teaching in eco-farming so that they can live in harmony with nature.
7. Sport Class
It's not only to keep your body fit but also to train social skills and form a school identity. We have our own Football and volleyball fields. If you are active and like to play on a team, join our sports class.
8. Primary Class
Do you like helping with small children? Then you are more than welcome to our primary class! You can paint, craft, sing, tell stories, and do much more with the kids. The nature-bound eco philosophy is at the center of our work.
9. Own Projects
Are you a musician and would like to offer a drumming course, or do you have experience in filmmaking? Whatever it may be, we can achieve it together if it fits into our concept. We always look forward to new ideas and exciting projects for the kids. The prerequisite is that you can help independently and that the project is financially and organizationally feasible. Write down your ideas and send us your suggestions. We can then discuss whether and how we can implement your ideas.
Expectations
• You should help about five hours daily in one or more of the above-mentioned areas. You can contribute your individual qualities to enrich and actively shape the group.
• Become a part of the school and give a hand wherever needed! Independence and mindfulness are essential. Most of the time, you will help with a local teacher who will teach the classes with you. However, you might teach some classes or do projects with the children independently. Flexibility, confidence and independence are valuable qualities in our school.
• Try to adapt to the locals' lifestyle, respecting the local culture and school rules.Idiomas

We have volunteers and teachers from all over the world, bringing a rich diversity of languages and cultures. Our founder is from Germany, so we have many German teachers and volunteers, but we also welcome helpers and educators from England, Australia, Spain, Italy, and many other parts of Europe and Asia. Our local teachers come from Myanmar, and since we are based in Thailand, we embrace a multilingual environment. If you're interested in sharing your language and teaching it here, you'll find a lot of interest from our students. Our teachers are always eager to learn more, and you can pick up some Burmese while you're here!Acomodação

Workawayers become part of a close-knit community with both local Burmese teachers and fellow volunteers. With five volunteers on site and a dedicated team of around ten teachers, we create a family-like environment where we cook, eat, and help together on the school's eco farm. Volunteers participate in fun activities like picking fresh fruits and vegetables, and cooking healthy meals.
In addition to daily activities, we often organize weekend trips to local attractions like waterfalls, national parks, night markets, and cultural festivals. Whether it's enjoying a fun karaoke night, exploring local culture, or just relaxing, there's always something to do. This immersive experience allows volunteers to truly become part of the whole family, making a meaningful impact while enjoying their time here.Mais alguns detalhes

I stayed for one month in September 2019 and will certainly come back again in the future. This was my first time in Asia, so there was a lot of culture shock for me. There is something in the culture of this school (and the country of Myanmar) that made an impact on me. The children do not have a lot... maybe one or two… read more
