I was very lucky to stay with Dani and the kids for about 3 weeks, and everyday I miss our time together! As this was my first workaway experience, I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but she made my first experience very memorable and enjoyable. The work that was expected was incredibly reasonable and easy, mostly involving looking after their
… read more dog and cleaning up around the house (cleaning the kitchen, washing/putting away dishes, laundry, etc.), so it was very laidback and never took up much time. Of course there was entertaining and cleaning up after the kids as well, but again, so laidback and Vayda and Ranger are so sweet and chill, so I had a lot of fun spending time with them :)
Dani is also incredibly flexible and understanding, and was always encouraging me to go out and explore the area, which was so sweet of her and greatly appreciated. She gave me rides to bus stops, Mount Maunganui and Tauranga, and I had so much fun exploring Papamoa and the Bay of Plenty region, there is so much to do and I really fell in love with the area! The beach and reserve being located so close to their house is also a huge bonus! And though I did have plenty of time to do my own exploring and activities, I also appreciated tagging along and being included in their outings and learning more of the Kiwi family lifestyle.
I miss the family everyday, I miss the daily dog walks and playing outside with the kids and making so many drawings with Vayda haha! They welcomed and accommodated me so warmly and it helped me adjust and fit into their daily routine nicely. Dani and the kids have become a home away from home for me, and I am thankful to have spent so much time with such a lovely little family in a beautiful area of New Zealand, it was truly a wonderful experience :)

Lina was our first work away experience, and she was one to live up to. Lina was great with the kids, she was kind, confident, happy and helped out with day to day jobs and getting kids ready for daycare etc,
Also helping with the bigger jobs like painting the house - thank you!

Because lina didnt have a car We did a couple of activities around the mount and papamoa that we could do with the kids, like going into the mount hotpools, small walks and parks.
Also Linas coffee skills exceeded while she was here.. as practice makes perfect!
I highly recommend Lina in a family environment! I wish you well for your travels! And hope to see you again if you're passing by xx

… read more help with, like painting the brick fassade of their house, and make life a bit easier for dani. She was really flexible and drove me to the papamoa hills and the mount maunganui, so I would do some activities alone, but I also really liked just tagging along in their daily routine and help out wherever I could. They really welcomed me with open arms and i absolutely enjoyed my time with them, especially reading bedtime stories to vayda, having lovely conversations with dani or her teaching me how to make a really good coffee. Lola is beautiful natured and was so lovely to be around. I feel we got on really well, did some walking together and she helped me with jobs around the house and with the kids! Lola is very creative, very hard working and eager to get started! I wish her well for her travels around New Zealand xx

I had a great time with Dani and her lovely kids (and Chewy!) for 2 weeks and I'm very thankful for that! Dani is very flexible, kind and has been helping me and supporting me a lot. I think we worked well together and it was a lovely experience.
