  My name is Bertold and I am a producer who lives in a small hamlet of houses outside Testa dell'Acqua a village in the Hyblaean Mountains above the Baroque city of Noto, close to Palazzolo Acreide. We are about 20 minutes drive to the sea and face due south. I built an amphitheatre and outdoor cinema, and an indoor event space connected to one of the houses you will be living in. The main house next door where my 2 parents (Judith & Jonathan) live includes a beautiful garden, paper conservation studio and some lovely outdoor spaces. We have a goat, 3 dogs, 4 chickens, 3 ducks, a toad and many cats.

  Our cultural association run regular events for members in the indoor event space adjoining the house (during the colder months) and outdoors during the warmer months, there is a regular need for involvement in the set up of the performances/screening, running of the event, looking after general public etc

  Ajuda

  As I will be working between my home and abroad in Italy throughout 2025, I require a responsible individual or couple to come and look after my animals, house, and garden. I will be staying in the house (which has 2 double bedrooms), but potentially travelling at a moment's notice.
  
  There is plenty of indoor and outdoor space, and an active cultural association run by myself and my 2 lovely neighbours who own the land and buildings opposite. My mother and father live down the driveway (100 metres away) in the main house.
  
  In terms of help, I would be grateful for our Workaway guest to undertake the following
  - Light cleaning to keep the house clean and tidy
  - Look after and feed the dogs (unless I am here)
  - Feed the chickens, ducks & 2 x goats (Mango & PawPaw).
  - Light gardening (strimming, weeding, watering, pruning, feeding of plants etc)
  - Daily dog walk, (& sometimes followed by the goats & Baggy the black cat!).
  
  Other than these daily tasks there may be some other projects that you may like to get involved in.

  Acomodação

  The house you would be staying in (Casa Bertoldo) has 2 double bedrooms, a kitchen, living room and shower/toilet. If I am staying then one of the rooms would be taken by me - if however I am away longer periods you would have the whole house to yourself or yourselves (if a couple). Plenty of garden and outdoor spaces to explore .

  Ideally you would bring your own car, however we have an old Fiat Panda that can be driven on a case by case basis for local trips (over 25's only I'm afraid due to the type of insurance). The village of Testa dell'acqua has 2 small local supermarkets, cafe, bar, butcher, baker, post office, pizzeria, doctor's surgery and carabinieri.
