  🏰 Local history & culture: Our manor is located near the medieval town of Dole, birthplace of Louis Pasteur, with charming streets, canals, markets, and museums. Dijon, Besançon, and even Geneva are within reach for day trips.
  🥖 French cuisine: You’ll share meals with us and taste regional specialties of Franche-Comté, such as Comté cheese, vin jaune, and local charcuterie. If you enjoy cooking, we’d love to exchange recipes from your country too.
  🐐 Animals & rural life: Daily life with our dogs, cat, goats, and chickens offers a gentle immersion in countryside living. You’ll see how small-scale animal keeping fits into family life in this region.
  🌿 Nature & outdoors: The Jura is full of hiking trails, rivers, and rolling countryside. Perfect if you enjoy walking, cycling, or simply relaxing in nature.
  💬 Language & culture exchange: While the main aim is to practise English with our daughter, we can also help you practise French, making this a true cultural and linguistic exchange.

  We are offering free accommodation and meals in our home, in exchange for your companionship. This is not a job — it’s a cultural exchange and an opportunity to experience life in rural France. If you’re a student needing a quiet period to study, this would be perfect.

  Our home is well-suited if you need quiet time for remote work or study alongside companionship: 📶 Internet: We have reliable Wi-Fi throughout the house. 🛏️ Private space: You’ll have your own room with a double bed, and there are quiet spots around the manor and park for reading, studying, or working online. 🕐 Flexible schedule: We don’t need fixed hours — just regular time spent with our daughter for conversation, meals, and companionship. You can easily balance this with your own projects. 🌿 Peaceful setting: The countryside location is calm and relaxing, perfect for focus, while larger towns (Dole, Dijon, Besançon, Geneva) are close enough for a change of scenery when you want it. This setup could be ideal if you’re a student, remote worker, or digital nomad who wants a base in France while sharing English conversation and cultural exchange.
