Birgit and her family are very lovely people and welcomed us warmly. This was our first workaway and we were glad to be in a very friendly environment.

Unfortunately, the Workaway profile is not up to date at all. Therefore we experienced a huge gap between our expectations and the reality of our accomodation. We would strongly recommend everyone to clear this topic before committing to this workaway.

We had a good time staying with Birgit, John, the kids and Oma :). They all welcomed us very well into their family and we enjoyed being a little part of their everyday farm lifestyle. There's always some work to do and Birgit, Oma and Johm worked very hard every day! We hopefully were able to help out a little with picking all that ragwort on
… read more their paddocks. ;-)
We had our own little place were we stayed but always had dinner together at the main house an that was soooo good! I (Maike) was able to learn a little about how the milking is done and kind of assisted for one round of milking which was actually good fun! On our last evening we all got invited for a nepalese dinner which was so delicious!

Just a week with Jon, Birgit and the young family, but enough time to get to know a very generous and community-minded couple. Nature had forced them in to squeezing 4 months work into 2, and then sent along a flood - so they were very busy and working extremely hard. Despite this, they made time to find me suitable work (mainly house maintenance
… read more and fencing repairs) and trusted me to get on and do it on my own. Birgit cooked up some really lovely meals and made sure to provide food that I liked. They even let me stay on for an extra couple of days to do some work at another local WorkAway host who was unable to provide accommodation. It was a real privilege to be able to help these fine people, even in such a small way.Fotos

Our stay at Birgit‘s and John’s farm was amazing. We had a great time. They are a hard working couple with three adorable kids and we did our best to help them out with cleaning and babysitting. They made us feel very welcome and we even got the chance to help milk their cows. Thanks for having us.

Thank you Birgit and John for these great 2 weeks. I really enjoyed staying at your place. There was always something to do, a good variate of jobs and I was never bored! The children were very sweet. Fishing was really great too!
And the beerfest was great fun!

I really enjoyed my time on the farm with Birgit, John, Richard, and the kids. They are great hosts. There was never a dull day with a wide variety of projects to help with around the house, garden, and farm. The accommodations were very comfortable (separate 2 bedroom cottage shared with Richard, their employee), and I enjoyed having some good
… read more chats in the evenings with Richard. The kids were fun to spend time with too, and it was fun to be included in some family outings, barbecues, and such in addition to the usual meals. I really appreciated that they were flexible with workdays and encouraged me to get out and about, including some overnight hikes.
