We spent 2 weeks with Fredy and Chana and had the most positive experience! They were so accommodating and helpful and as a result we felt very much at home here. The volunteer work varied day-to-day, ranging from cleaning the bar, labelling and bottling in the brewery and outdoor work including painting, building and gardening. The accommodation was pleasant and cosy with all the facilities you need to cook and relax. Meliquina is a very peaceful, remote village with plenty of nice trails and routes to hike/run in your free time. There is a local supermarket around 10 minutes from the brewery which has all the supplies you need. A few local cafes and restaurants nearby but check opening times before visiting, particularly in off seasons. Thank you so much for allowing us to spend this time here, we have had such a welcoming experience and all of us have agreed this has been a highlight of our trip :)

Haruka was a lucky find. She fitted in really well to the household routines and weeded like it was a religion! Such a hard worker and very responsive to any direction or suggestions. Her outgoing personality made her a lovely companlon as well. Highly recommend her to other hosts.

I had a great time with Oswaldo!! He has hosted many volunteers across many years and is very relaxed and easygoing. He gave me some great advice, and I will cherish the time I spent with him and his kids as I continue traveling :) If you have any questions about staying with Oswaldo, feel free to send me a message!

I loved my stay here and at El Gigante in general, and definitely recommend it. The village is small and not that touristic, which allows for a more authentic expérience than in others towns of the Pacific coast. The hostel is located 2 minutes by foot from the Playa Gigante beach, and 5-10 minutes from Amarillo beach. Even though the waves were too steep for my surfing level, I appreciated the free surfboards. The tasks requested were pretty easy : there are 3 front desk shift a day (managing check-ins and check-out, selling coffees, renting surf boards, keeping the café clean) and a cleaning shift a day (cleaning the common kitchen, common spaces, toilets and showers. Gabriel & Hugo were really nice to us volunteers, always trying to be accommodating and open to sharing great moments together. I felt so good here that I stayed 4 weeks instead of the 2 weeks planned at first. Thank you again for welcoming me into the family ❤️

I had a lovely three weeks with Béa and Marco! They warmly welcomed me into their home and showed me a slice of their life. The work was fair and rewarding. Béa is an excellent chef, they are both kind souls. I even had the chance to meet some of their friends and family which enriched my experience greatly.

Matheus is a very nice, open-minded person, likes to help others, and is very easy to get along with. He is a dedicated and precise worker and likes to learn new things. It was very nice to have Matheus with us. He was our second volunteer from Brazil, so we had our second opportunity to enjoy and share the sweet experience of brigadeiros. A very nice aspect is that he wrote a very nice thank-you note in our mother tongue Dutch, and there wasn’t a single mistake in it! 😊

It was very nice to have Jorma and Pia with us. A lot of work has been done, we are happy for them that they could spend time in a warm country as a stark ”contrast” to the cold weather in Finland. 😊 We have had the time to exchange interests and skills. We shared the meals together and had nice discussions about a lot of different themes. And Jorma, we really liked your comment: “It feels like being on holiday and having nice things to do.” We hope this counts for all Workawayers!

If I had to choose one word to describe this experience, it would be "unforgettable" Thank you Villi, for opening your home to me. I'm taking a little piece of Iceland with me in my heart. I will miss every sunrise, every snowfall, and every sunset. Thank you so much for everything. I hope I have the opportunity to return again. A big hug to the whole team.

Clem’s time with us at our community project in Kenya, though brief, touched our community in a truly special way. She connected deeply with the women, offering counselling with such gentleness, patience, and genuine care. Her presence created a safe and comforting space where many felt heard and valued. It was moving to see the trust she built in such a short time. Clem went beyond what was expected, even visiting women in their homes to support them more personally. This meant so much to our community and showed her true heart for people. We will always remember her warmth, kindness, and the peace she brought into our space. Clem is not just skilled in what she does, she carries a beautiful spirit that makes a lasting difference. We are deeply grateful and would welcome her back anytime.

Tabby came to work on our dairy farm for 1 month in Feb / March 2026. Communication was clear and she was very organised with her dates and travel plans. She learned the routines of feeding calves , washing buckets, bedding calves quickly and settled in well. She kept her work environment nice and clean and tidy. She worked well both independently and as part of the team. She has really positive energy and was a great worker. We wish her all the best with future travels and would love to welcome her back any time!

My time in Kelaa-Des-Sraghna has been wonderful. I just came back from one month of volunteering there. Wow. How amazing. The atmosphere at school is so great. Hassan and Abderrahim are great hosts, providing guidance and encouragement. We were also able to communicate our needs and discuss issues very openly when needed. Yassamine, who works at reception, is always so kind, welcoming and fun.Yacine was such a great guide and friend for us, planning walks and picnics, connecting us with students. The teachers at the school are very talented, so welcoming and dedicated. I learned a lot from them. The students I had the chance to work with (French and English classes) are very hard working and motivated. It was really interesting learning to lesson plan and tailor exercises to their needs. We were also provided lesson+exercise books and other resources and could always ask the other teachers for help. Usually, we had one class a day, from 8 to 9:30 PM, and sometimes more on Saturdays. Our days were free for us to explore Kelaa and the surroundings, go for hikes on the hills or to the souk, read a good book, meet with friends. About Kelaa-Des-Sraghna: the city is calm and has a lot to offer (even if most people from there that I met would say there's not much to do or see, in my opinion: not true) : great people, great food, great walks, beautiful sunsets. About the apartment: it's simple but quite comfy, and the rooftop is amazing : it's a beautiful and calm space, like a refuge (+ if you're lucky you'll meet the cutest, nicest cats there). I love my time in Kelaa-Des-Sraghna. It was such a blessing to learn from people about the culture, the language. It was my first time in Morocco and it couldn't have been better. I formed great friendships during this experience, with the other volunteers, teachers and students, and I would love to come back. Chokran bzaf for everything! Beslama !

Light blue skies, magic forests, mindful conversations, the sweetest animals ever and a bit of craziness. This list is way too short to sum up all I could experience during the month I stayed at the farm. Nala (the most caring, straightforward and fun host you could ask for) was surprised at first when I called the farm "home". But that's exactly how it felt: a home full of love. What makes this place special is that if you are open, kind and quiet enough you can really bond with every living creature: from the cats to the cows to the trees. The work can be hard sometimes (once we were building fences in the snow and freezing wind, and I swear swinging the hammer on the ladder to get the posts in the ground was no joke) but there is always a moment to cuddle with some hairy friend -I want to thank expecially the calf Tobias for his lovely hugs-. Moreover, you’ll always have two free days per week, which you can agree with Nala and spend as you like. I could never forget to mention the delicious food Nala prepared for us (pancakes, liverballs, potato salads...). Only the best organic ingredients: meat, milk and eggs are obviously from the farm. So, if you are looking for a place where you can have meaningful connections and build some muscles from the physical work, what are you waiting for to apply? Thank you again to Nala and all her friends, and thank you to Hans who was so nice to drive me back and forth to the S bahn station even if I don't speak a word of German and we were sitting silently in the car. ^^ Tschüss ❤️

Our stay with this great family had only bad side: it was too short. Both Lucie and Gilles were great hosts that mastered the art of always making you feel welcome at their home while setting rules and boundaries clearly, something we really liked. The most magical part of the Yellow House is definitely the garden where we worked most of our days and if you are lucky enough you might even have the chance to see the sprouts of what you planted. The kids were great and Sumik will be a great companion any time you have with him. Schedules are always respected and after a day's work you can always expect the most delicious meal and lots of free time to explore Prague. The metro is about a 10 minute walk and the area is well connected and calm. We hold this dear family in our hearts, so take care of them and be prepared to share some of your country's cuisine and culture with them.

Rayne & Sandra were my first Workaway experience and the stars aligned when I saw their post accepting Last Minute inquiries. . Connecting via the App messaging was quick and easy. We agreed to a video call to introduce ourselves, exchange information about what projects they have happening at their home and how my previous experiences could dovetail in. . They are kind, generous, energetic souls. Communication was excellent, we shared a similar sense of humour, love of nature, food, and culture, I felt as if I had known them my whole life. . I was set up in a superb Canadian Classic Boler travel trailer, which has always been a dream for me to stay in. I had access to anything I needed in the home and was included in extraordinary outings they planned. . Most of my efforts were put towards their extensive organic garden as springtime is a time of re-birth so some pruning, weeding, fertilizing, planing, adding mulch, manure, creating wood chip paths, regenerating soil in the greenhouse, assisting with building one of the few new raised beds, assisting well as a bit of landscaping touches outside of the fruit & veg garden. . I spent 2 weeks and had the full gambit of weather. On my days off I got to explore the area, take in the Saturday Duncan Market, and a highlight was attending a dinner and performance of a trio that included award winning fiddler, step dancer, and guitarist. . I miss them already, but know I will be back. I just have to see what it all looks like in full burst. . Grateful for this experience.

We had a really good time in Quelfes. Jean-Pierre and Dominique are wonderful hosts. They took great care of us and always made sure that we were doing okay. During workdays they also always provided really tasty food! The tasks were varied and after work the big garden was an amazing place to rest. The surroundings of the quinta are also incredibly beautiful and we had lots of fun exploring the Ria Formosa with the bikes we could use. We would recommend this Workaway!

Great,Great, Great! Anna is such a solar, funny and empathic person! It was a gift to start into the season with her Italian soul. She mastered our fences-championsship, an annual challenge at the farm. She gained muscles and a big friendship with our young cattle Tobias. Anna is very reliable, fast in learning, sees what needs to be done and living with her was like a friend moved in. She connects and respects. She makes even grumpy characters laugh. Anna brings singing and dancing sunshine along and infects you with it. She is not afraid to get full of shit or of any crazy weather-conditions. Anna was a great help in the household, very kind with the cats, an esthete in gardening (pumpkin-field), never giving up on the f***ng fences ;), always there for stable-routine and untiring in doing the embroidery on the alp-necklaces. And thank you Anna, that you were there when cat Flecki died :( We are happy to welcome her back already in July again! Otherwise the "Goodbye" would have sucked so badly. See you soon, Anna!

What an amazing workaway experience! Robert and Dee are the most incredible hosts who go above and beyond to ensure we had the best time. Dee is an incredible cook and hosted the best dinner parties where we got to meet so many of their incredible friends. Their home was stunning with so much interesting history attached to it. The work was varied and always enjoyable to do. We would either be doing garden work or cleaning out the garage at their Villa or we would be in Valletta helping clean and organise their apartment. We felt so at home during our stay and Dee and Robert ensured we got to see Malta by taking us on a few trips and provided countless recommendations. It is safe to say Dee and Robert are some of the kindest and also most interesting hosts we have had and one's we can definitely call our friends. Overall we can't thank you both enough for this wonderful experience and we are sure not going to forget all the amazing times we had together :)

We had an amazing time with Eliana und Pedro. Their house is very cozy and welcoming, and Caramelo is the cutest dog in the word as well the three cats. Curiti and the hole Santader department is lovely, we had an unforgettable time! We cooked together and went on wonderful hikes. Eliana and Pedro were super eager to share their culture with us and show us Colombia through native eyes! Thank you very much Eliana and Pedro, we’ll never forget Curití!
