Description
Hello! My name is Priscilla, one of the founders of a small but growing Community-Based Organization (CBO) in Kenya. I have two local team members whom are paid a stipend for now , one is our field officer, who works in the field identifying vulnerable families and their needs, she is also involved in our programs. The other one is our Assistant Admin who handles our administrative, book keeping and also involved in our programs.
We are based in a warm and welcoming Kenyan community where visitors can experience authentic local life, friendly people, and rich culture. Volunteers will love the strong sense of community and the opportunity to make a real impact while learning new things.
The organization is currently run by me in partnership with a local pastor and a few community volunteers who assist during activities. As we grow, volunteers play an important role in helping us expand our programs.
We welcome open-minded, compassionate Workawayers who are ready to share skills, learn, and be part of our community.

Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre
Cultural exchange is at the heart of what we do. Workawayers will have many opportunities to connect closely with our team, the children, and the wider local community through daily activities, community outreaches, and informal social time.
Volunteers can experience authentic Kenyan life — including local foods, language (basic Swahili), children’s vibrant Kenyan songs, dances, and cultural expressions through music, church and community gatherings, and visits to nearby markets and neighborhoods. We often work side by side, which creates natural opportunities to share stories, skills, and cultural perspectives.
From our side, we are happy to share knowledge about Kenyan culture, community development work, simple local cooking, and grassroots project management. Volunteers are also welcome to share their own skills, whether in teaching, creative arts, sports, technology, or other talents.
By hosting people from different cultures, we hope to build meaningful friendships, broaden our global understanding, and create a spirit of mutual learning and respect. We believe everyone comes as both a teacher and a learner.
Aide
We welcome volunteers who are flexible, creative, and passionate about community work. We support vulnerable children, youth, and women.
Workawayers may help with:
Assisting in children’s activities (games, reading, homework support)
Supporting mentorship and life-skills sessions for youth and women
Helping during food or clothing distribution outreaches
Teaching basic skills (art, sports, computer, language, etc.)
Helping with media, photography, social media, or simple admin tasks
Supporting women’s training programs.
We usually work together as a team, so volunteers will not be left alone. This is a cultural exchange, you will share your skills while also learning about our community and local life in Kenya. We value volunteers who are patient, adaptable, and willing to serve with a positive heart.

Hébergement
I will be hosting the Workawayers in my home to ensure their security while also creating an opportunity for us to bond, share experiences, and get to know one another better. The accommodation is safe and modest, giving volunteers a chance to experience authentic local living while staying close to us.
We believe this setup builds meaningful connections, encourages cultural exchange, and creates a strong sense of belonging for everyone involved. Volunteers who are flexible and comfortable with simple living will feel most at home.
I will not be charging any fee or payment.
Autres infos...
During your time off, there are many ways to explore and enjoy the local area. Volunteers can visit nearby animal parks, historic sites, local markets, or cultural villages to experience Kenya’s rich wildlife, history, and traditions. Local transport options such as matatus (shared minibuses) and boda-bodas (motorcycle taxis) make it easy to get around or better still you can use a taxi car.
