  Description

  We are a Belgian couple starting a new project in Portugal.
  We found an old Portuguese farmhouse (Quinta do Coelho Azul) in 2014, in Quelfes, not far from Olhao, east of Faro, and have just finished renovating.
  Now we intend to take time to work on the land, actually 2 hectares with a lot of citrus, almonds, olives etc…
  But the goal is to adapt the culture implementing principles from Permaculture and Food Forest.
  From exotic fruit trees to perennial treasures, we’re dedicated to enriching our local landscape with a wide variety of edible plants, especially fruit trees, from all over the world.
  We are currently looking for enthusiastic practical people to help us with gardening and small building jobs.
  Ideally this project would suit a couple or 2 friends, however singles are welcome.
  Anyone with knowledge in environmental campaigning would be very welcome.
  Your accommodation will be a very comfortable room with private bathroom.
  You will have also access to all other facilities like Living Room, Kitchen, Swimming Pool, etc...

  Exchanges between people coming from different places, with different life experiences are always interesting. We are sure we can exchange and learn from each other, talk about a lot of subjects :-)

  Aide

  We always feel in a starting phase, in our mind everything has yet to be done, so the main activities are related to put the natural area in a good shape for future additional happenings.
  Your Contribution can range from basic garden maintenance and land cleaning, up to more sophisticated tasks including pruning, clearing, shredding, irrigating, planting and landscaping, going all the way to improving water management and soil erosion.
  Some painting outside is also always needed.
  It doesn’t have to stop there either, if you are skilled in Cooking we’ll love you to join the culinary ride!
  You must be able to work independently and with your own initiative, some tasks we will do together, where as other things you are expected to do by yourself. We like to keep things flexible and respect the situations and skills from the people involved.

  Hébergement

  You will be living with us in a recently renovated traditional Algarvian house, in a very comfortable environment.
  We usually cook and eat meals together (when possible), the goal is to create a communal, friendly and sociable environment. Full board is included with 3 meals each workday at the Quinta. This meals are served at planed time periods.
  You are invited to participate for drinks other than water.
  Non-working days, you are responsible for you eat, or you can participate and share some food with us.
  We expect from you that you keep the premisses tidy and clean.
  Internet is available and included.

  Autres infos...

  We are 5 minutes from Olhao and the beautiful beaches and iconic islands of the Ria Formosa National Park. We are also less than 30 minutes from Spain and 20 minutes from the towns of Tavira, Faro and Loulé.
  There are a lot of interesting things to do. Walking or bicycling all around, visiting Olhao or other villages, the Ria Formosa, the islands etc... We can suggest a lot of things.
