Hi! I’m Tabea, 25 years old from Germany, and passionate about travel, nature, and working with people and animals. I studied Business Administration with a focus on Tourism and Hospitality in a dual program, which gave me both academic knowledge and hands-on experience in guest services and sustainable tourism.

Over the past years, I’ve lived and worked in several countries, including Canada and Italy. I spent 8 months on a guest ranch and a cattle ranch in British Columbia, where I guided trail rides, completed a wrangler course, helped train young horses, and supported daily ranch routines. I really enjoy outdoor work, being around animals, and contributing to a team. My tasks in the lodge included: preparing breakfast, setting the table, cleaning dishes and kitchen, housekeeping, cooking 3 courses dinners and welcoming guests.

I also worked in hospitality at Castello del Calcione (a beautiful castle) in Tuscany, where I welcomed guests, prepared breakfast, coordinated housekeeping, handled check-outs, organized activities, and managed bookings. I love creating a warm atmosphere and making people feel welcome.
I consider myself open-minded, adaptable, and hardworking. I’m quick to learn, always positive, and enjoy meeting people from all over the world. I’m happiest when I’m outdoors, learning new skills, and contributing to meaningful projects — whether it’s farm work, gardening, animal care, hospitality, or simple daily tasks.

My latest Workaways this year were: 3 weeks on a dairy farm in Ireland: milking, feeding over 300 calves twice a day, cleaning pens, general farm tasks and helping 4 weeks with rescued animals in Morocco.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on Tourism and Hospitality in Germany. It was a dual study program, which meant alternating between three months of university and three months of practical work at my partner company. Since graduating, I have continued to build international experience in tourism, hospitality, ranch life and working with animals.

I have worked in different roles across several countries, including as a Hospitality Manager at a historic estate in Italy, where I was responsible for welcoming international guests, coordinating daily operations, managing reservations and ensuring a high-quality guest experience. I have also worked for a sustainable tour operator in Germany in areas such as product development, sales, marketing and guest communication.

My passion for outdoor tourism has also taken me to Canada, where I worked on guest ranches and cattle farms. I gained hands-on experience with horses, worked with young horses, rode Western, and led trail rides for guests. I particularly enjoy combining working with animals and being outdoors with meeting and helping people from all over the world. Working as a trail guide taught me to be responsible for guests, communicate clearly, adapt to different situations and make sure everyone feels comfortable and safe.

I have always been a very hands-on person and enjoy helping wherever I am needed. Growing up, I was involved in taking care of animals and also helped my family with work around the house and garden, so I am used to practical tasks, getting my hands dirty and figuring things out myself.

I am curious, flexible, open-minded and enthusiastic about new challenges. I enjoy taking responsibility, learning new skills and becoming part of a team. I am adaptable, reliable and communicate easily with people from different backgrounds. I speak German and English fluently, have a good knowledge of Italian and some French and Farsi.

Above all, I love being outdoors, working with animals and creating meaningful experiences for people. I am always happy to learn something new and contribute wherever I can.

Otherwise, I would describe myself as a funny and joyful girl who will probably laugh at her own jokes :D I value the little things in life and believe a positive attitude can make a big difference. I’m not afraid of hard work, getting my hands dirty or taking on new challenges, and I’m always happy to learn something new.
