Gunn - Elen is a sweet and always willing to help young woman. She spent 3 weeks in our Center in Amorgos which is full of cats (sick and healthy). The Center needed a lot of cleaning daily to keep it in good condition and the cats needed a lot of attention.Gunn - Elen responded readily to everything and did it well. Our cats loved her. She had also to take care our dog Kira who is a young and active dog and Gunn-Elen tought also her some things. Gunn -Elen is willing and responsible in everything she does and she always does it with a big smile. Thank you soo soo much Gunn-Elen for all the help you offered to us and our animals. We hope to see you again in Amorgos as a volunteer or a visitor. We all enjoyed a lot your company!

In my experiences as a Workaway Host, I can think of no better example of the quintessential Workawayer than Chad. His wide array of skills in Joinery, Roofing, Carpentry and Masonry combined with his efficient execution were second to none. And he came prepared with all of his own equipment and tools. Incredible!! He was an absolute pleasure to have at the chateau and I can only hope he will wish to return!! Thx a mill for all your great work and fine company Chad!

My experience at David’s farm was truly valuable and full of deeply constructive moments. For me, it represented a significant shift — moving from my own farm, where I am usually the host, to a form of permaculture that goes far beyond agriculture as a single concept. My time at the farm expanded my vision of the systems we can build to better integrate our lives with Nature. I became a real fan of the compost toilet, which I found genuinely ingenious, simple, and effective. Caring for the animals — from goats to chickens and cats — was also a great source of inspiration for what I would like to develop in Italy. David is a kind and thoughtful person; when he explains the tasks, you can clearly see the care and love he puts into everything he does, and listening to him is a constant source of inspiration. He often told me that in everything we do, we need to put the right feeling into it, so that there can be mutual nourishment. During my stay, I had the chance to harvest fruit, observe the behaviour of the trees, prune, process food, learn how to make cheese and yoghurt. Cooking was also fascinating, using only ingredients from the garden — a completely new perspective for me compared to what I was used to. As soon as David found out that I am the son of a painter, he gave me the opportunity to express this creative side at the farm, and this meant a lot to me. I truly appreciate when people listen to who you are and offer you space to express yourself creatively as well. I enjoyed also the chainsaw lessons where I learnt how to use it and take care :) I highly recommend this farm for its welcoming atmosphere, its deep listening, and the strong sense of a small community that naturally forms here. If you want to learn permaculture — but above all to live permaculture in a broader, more holistic sense — this is the right place for you. I am deeply grateful to David and to all the volunteers I met during my stay. This is a place I will always carry in my heart.

Scott was such a lovely and genuine workaway host that welcomed me into his beautiful house. Some cleaning jobs and a little bit of gardening. Amazing food and interesting conversations, such a great way to start my Tassie adventures...I couldn't recommend enough!

Siempre bienvenido a nuestra casa, familia y hogar hermano!

Dion was a pleasure to host, he was a respectful hard worker and easy to share my home with. He loved a new project and was very handy at maintenance around the house and farm. He loves animals.

Georg has just departed after a very helpful week's stay. I should start by saying that he understates his English skills in his profile - he is definitely very fluent vs the too modest "intermediate" level that he indicates. And maybe that is reflective of Georg's capable and understated way of being. In building me a fine chook house and a great frame for my laundry tub, he quietly and skilfully put my tools to good use (having had to find many of them first!) without any fuss. He showed patience and initiative throughout his stay, along with good humour and a positive mindset. He was a pleasure to have around the house and fitted in really well with the two other Workawayers staying at the same time. He generously took them on local outings in his car and I was pleased to see his interest to make the most of his stay in the area. A faultless Workaway effort on his part and a worthwhile hosting experience for me - the 5 stars all round are well deserved. Thanks Georg - look forward to remaining in touch

We loved hosting Camille at our place. She was so easy to live with. We did struggle a bit with the translation of English/ French but we got it figured out. Camille was a true animal lover and enjoyed riding Elsa and taking Boo for hikes. She is a great worker and had no problems with the work helping with the horses. I can highly recommend Camille and wish her all the best in her final travels in Canada. Bisous Camille 🥰

We had a wonderful experience at Helen’s place on Waiheke Island. From the beginning, Helen made us feel very welcome with her warm, kind, and generous nature. The work was fair and well explained, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. One of the highlights was the food, Helen cooked delicious meals and was very generous with her time and care. We really appreciated the balance between work and free time, as well as the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. We truly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this Workaway to others.

This workaway experience with David and Rachel was amazing. I spent two weeks in their beautiful home surrounded by nature. They provided a great balance of fair work and time to explore the area. I really loved playing/walking with Dottie and Jazzy. It is very clear how much David and Rachel care to make sure their workawayers enjoy their stay. We enjoyed trips to the local national parks, the rodeo in Lismore, and trivia at the local tavern with friends. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this experience!

Liberty was an absolute pleasure to work with and a real asset during her time here. She was hardworking, thoughtful, and consistently approached every task with care and enthusiasm, whether it was physical work like fencing and building, or more creative projects in the bush. What really stood out was her positive attitude and consideration for both the place and the people around her. She learnt quickly, worked independently when needed, and always brought a calm, capable energy to whatever she was doing. Liberty genuinely engaged with the land, the animals, and the spirit of the place, and that made a big difference. I’m very grateful for the contribution she made and would happily recommend her to anyone lucky enough to work with her in the future.

I don’t think you can get closer to paradise on earth than this place. There’s a bunch of tropical fruits and vegetables, beautiful nature, good weather and good food. The work activities will vary a lot depending on the season and ongoing projects, but during my time there was a nice rotation between farm work (taking care of the vegetable garden and banana field, and doing wood chipping for mulching) and construction projects. Nearby the eco-village is Yujing, a small town with a great night market held twice a week, and plenty of other stores, supermarkets and restaurants to get anything you need. There are bicycles at the eco-village that you can use to explore the area, and Yujing is only 10-15 minutes away. The staff is very kind and caring, and they will make sure that your stay is comfortable and enjoyable. Occasionally one of the staff took us on little trips to nearby temples and viewpoints, which was really nice. And of course there’s Dora, the three-legged dog that requires much cuddles and love (and a bath every now and then haha). All in all: if you enjoy farming and you want to learn more about how to produce your own food using organic permaculture, then this is the place to be. Thanks to all the staff and volunteers for the great stay. See you soon!

I was with Christina for two weeks and more than enjoyed every day. Christina is not only insanely warm and open but very inspiring in her daily work. Personally, the work has given me a lot of joy and I am very grateful for the trust that has been placed in me! All in all, it is a very intense coexistence as well as working with the dogs and also the fates that one sometimes experiences are not completely without. There is always something to do and you should definitely feel like it. I am very happy that I could be with Christina and have not only learned a lot about dogs but also a lot about behaviour, values and responsibility. I hope very much that I will come back. All the love!

We were lucky enough to have Paul with us for a little more than a month. It feels like Paul became part of our little family, and I'm feeling touched while writing this lines. Paul helped us with many vary tasks and during his stay - and thanks to him - we got a lot done. He was up to do pretty much everything, from taking down a wall to organise miscellaneus, from building doors to make good food. He was always cleaning after himself. We are grateful for the good conversations we had along the way and thankful for using time to reflect upon social and individual issues together. He came with a centered presence. He helped us being more mindfull. I can with warm heart recommend to host him. We hope to meet him again.

Thank you Brian for having us! Staying at Finca del Sol was an amazing experience and we are grateful to have spent 10 days here. The land is a little paradise and we admire the work of reforestation that this project encapsulates. The fresh fruit, the knowledge of trees and nature, the company, the music and the many birds. The lifestyle was sometimes a bit more minimalist than we are used to, but we appreciated to see that we really don’t need so much! Again, thank you for the wonderful time.

Words will never be enough to describe how much of an exceptional volunteer Koji is. He helped us in SO many ways that we feel truly blessed to have received him here for 2 months. Koji saved us by landing in to house sit and then gifted us with his amazing art work such as an epic mural for our house and showed us the way in building a true masterpiece of a clay oven! Not only that but he was so kind and caring with our kids and his level of respect towards our home and this project was on another level. Willing to help at any task if needed. Such a talented and humble human being, we highly enjoyed sharing such moments with Koji and we feel honoured that he chose our project for this time with it being an honour for us also to facilitate and be a part of such profound and transformational processes from the gifts of the jungle. We look forward until we meet again with such magic, beauty and harmony! Wishing you many blessings for the way 🌿
