Description
Hi
I'm John
Meet a non-profitable organization located in the beautiful land of ARUSHA, the northern part of a peaceful land of TANZANIA, the center for tourists activities.
We are involving in providing education to children and youth both at risk and in vulnerable condition. Most of our students live in very poor circumstances and we are trying to give every child the opportunity to get education.
We try to achieve that they can grow to be the best they can be and let them know the power of education within life in general.
Through this program, we found that most of the children have talent so we fight to push them to their talent for both children and youth in the society by starting from the grassroots.
We are focusing on providing education to children aged 3-6years in the morning 08:00am up to 01:00pm. A few of those kids will join the class at 16:00 to get extra lessons because some of the kids will go to primary school soon and need to be able to understand English.
Around 16:00 also some other kids from primary or secondary education will come to school to get extra support with their homework. In Tanzania the sizes of school classes are really big (100 children in one classroom is very common). This means that they don’t always get enough attention from their teacher, so it’s really helpful if they can get some more help with their work.
Besides teaching, we want to focus on women empowerment.
We would like to provide sexual education for girls and we want to try to supply for their needs when having a menstruation. For example, we made reusable sanitary pads. This will lead to less drop out of school. Still many girls are not having the facilities that they need for having a period and that often means that they are not able to go to school some days during a month.
OUR MAIN OBJECTIVES
1.Promote community access education and skills including nursery, pre and primary school.
2.Empower community youths and women on economic activities.
3.Promote community, children and youth to realize their potentials, talents, gifts and professions.
4.Promote mentorship program for youth and support them in starting development projects.
5.Promote community access health services including health center.
6.Developing various forms of projects including poultry farming, social development and entrepreneurship activities.
We would like to welcome volunteers to our organization that share our values:
1.Team work
2.Social involvement
3.Transparency
4.Accountability
5.Commitment
6.Respect
Note that this is a project that involves children. You should be a person that likes to work and play with kids as this is a big part of the voluntary work.
We expect the volunteers to dress properly while they are at the school during class time. This means that you wear long pants or trousers and tops that are not too much revealing. You are in a position that children will look up to you and they will learn a lot from you. In this culture people are dressed like as written above. In your free time you are of course allowed to wear what you like.
There are probably a lot of different things you can help our organization with. Please discuss what you would like to do or what you are able to help with.
OUR VISION STATEMENT;
Community access quality education, better health, skills, quality and affordable social services and live in a clean and friendly environment for development.

-Apart from volunteers to teach children English language also we accept even French practice, Germany practice and so many language around the world.
OUR LAST MINUTE PLANS
❖ We are trying to buy our own piece of land so we don’t have the costs of renting a building (what we are doing now). If we succeed in buying the property, we can start construction work. We will need volunteers helping in construction work.
WHAT WE ALREADY ACHIEVED
- Thanks to fundraising we can provide the kids with porridge at our school during breaktime.
- We extended our classrooms so there is space to give education to more children at our school.
- We were able to buy proper chairs and tables and books we needed in the class.
- Through our poultry farming project we were able to get some money to buy materials for the school.
- Last year we did poultry farming around our school. We gave the people of our community the opportunity to learn how to do poultry farming. We were also able to employ some of these man and woman and with this we are trying to get people out of poor circumstances. Due to some challenges we don’t do it these months.
A big part of what we want to achieve can’t be achieved without money. Therefore we would like to ask volunteers to help us do fundraisingLangues
Langues parlées
Anglais: Courant
Swahili (Kiswahili): CourantCet hôte propose un échange linguistique
We are interested on learning new languages like English,Germany,Japanese,French, and other popular languages spoken world wide.. At our centre we have a special class for language exchange where volunteer are able to teach and learn new languageHébergement
Accommodation is at the family's house, where you will be provided with bed and adequate beddings. It is most likely that you will share the bedroom with another volunteer. We don’t have a shower as you are probably used to in your country. So to get clean, we boil water with pans what we use as hot water to wash ourselves.
This is probably very interesting if you’ve never done it before 😇. Something else what might be new to you is our toilet. We have a squat toilet and you can’t use toilet paper as the pipes will clog. You can have a look at the Wikipedia site for how to use a squat toilet if you are interested 😇. Clothes are washed by hand as we don’t have a washing machine either.
With the host family you will be encouraged to eat local African dishes which most people find quite appetising.
We provide three meals per day (breakfast, lunch and dinner).
Volunteers are free to cook and prepare meals to their standard choices, and they can give assistance in case of need and that is when you want too.
Internet:
Currently we do not have Wi-fi at our compound. We will go to town with you so you can purchase a Tanzanian sim-card with internet access.
Water:
Tap water is used for washing and cooking and it’s free. For drinking it is best to buy water in the shop.Autres infos...
