Description
Hey there, fellow adventurer! Thanks a bunch for checking out our profile. Feel free to shoot us a message if you like what you see—we're quick to reply, usually within a day. When you drop us a line, share your preferred arrival and departure dates. If you possess any special skills or experience, such as digital marketing, mechanical aptitude, or gardening expertise, please make sure to highlight these in your profile. Your unique talents can greatly contribute to the diverse range of activities we undertake here. Dive into the details below, and don't hesitate to ask if you've got any questions on your mind!
Upon retiring from the business world, I found myself drawn to the principles of sustainability, as well as the pursuit of a healthier and more peaceful lifestyle. It's truly remarkable how much I've learned from engaging and interacting with the younger generation, including my own children. They have served as insightful spokespeople, emphasizing the urgent need to protect our planet and highlighting the importance of fostering harmony among all its inhabitants.
My farm spans a generous 8 acres of land. Currently, approximately half of this space is dedicated to flourishing apple trees. The remaining half of the farm is undergoing a gradual transformation, as I introduce a diverse range of fruit trees and cultivate a variety of vegetables. This process reflects my commitment to sustainable agriculture and my aspiration to create a harmonious ecosystem that thrives on diversity and balance. We don't have any farm animals, apart from my dog and the rescue cats we foster. As a non-commercial farm, we primarily donate our produce to local charities, contributing to the community in meaningful ways.
While staying with us, you'll find yourself engaged in many different tasks, not all of which are strictly related to farming or confined to the farm premises. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of activities, including planting, weeding, harvesting, landscaping, and undertaking light construction tasks such as painting and building. Additionally, there may be opportunities to assist with bookkeeping or other miscellaneous tasks that arise. While the majority of your duties will indeed take place on the farm, there will be instances where you might be called upon to volunteer at a local charity, assist with a project in a nearby barn, or help out with household and landscaping tasks at my residence.
If you're seeking a role that offers a variety of experiences rather than a single, specialized task, then this could be the perfect fit for you. I firmly believe that variety enriches our lives, and I encourage a multi-faceted approach to our work. Typically, we operate in teams of 2-3 people, although there may be occasions when you'll be working independently.
The seasons of spring, summer, and fall are truly magical here in the Okanagan Valley. The abundance of nature surrounding us offers endless opportunities for exploration and adventure. Moreover, the town is just a short 15-minute drive away, providing easy access to additional amenities and attractions.
While winters on the farm may be slower compared to the rest of the year, we stay engaged with various small projects. What sets our winter apart is the opportunity to revel in the snowy wonderland. For those who enjoy skiing, there is a resort a mere 35 minutes away. Additionally, activities such as ice skating, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, winter tubing, fat biking, and snowmobiling are readily available for those seeking winter thrills.
If you prefer more relaxed activities, our farm offers high-speed internet, Netflix, video games, and a selection of board games, just to name a few. In other words, there is something for everyone here on the farm and in the surrounding area.
I cannot guarantee that you will have a fantastic time here, as that ultimately depends on you. However, what I can assure you is that you'll have the opportunity to forge meaningful friendships, perhaps even ones that last a lifetime. Our farm typically hosts a diverse group of 6 to 8 individuals from various corners of the globe, many of whom have traveled extensively. Surprisingly, historically, about 9 out of 10 of them are incredibly kind and genuine, much like yourself. The fact that many visitors wish to extend their stay speaks volumes about the welcoming and enjoyable environment we cultivate here at the farm.
So, if you're ready to embrace a busy and fulfilling experience surrounded by natural beauty and a welcoming community, we wholeheartedly invite you to join us on our farm in the Okanagan Valley.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

The entire carriage house is intended for the use of our guests. It features three rooms, each designed to accommodate two travelers. You may share a room with another traveler, or you'll have a room all to yourself, depending on how many people we have.
The house has a full bathroom with washer and dryer and a well equipped kitchen. Our living room has a large projector TV, chairs, and sofas. In addition to the carriage house, we have a large travel trailer and a motor home that we use when needed.
To cater to your connectivity needs, we offer high-speed Internet for streaming Netflix, and a very large table if you need to work on your computer.
We provide food every day of the week, and it's common for travelers to arrange communal meals together. You have the option to be self-sufficient with your food requirements or join others in preparing meals. Please note that we are unable to accommodate individuals with severe food allergies or sensitivities, as each guest is responsible for selecting their own menu. Personal preferences are welcome, and you will be responsible for preparing your own meals.Autres infos...

Thanks for everything.

Thank you so much for having me Arthur!
