Hi! I'm Susannah—a 39-year-old actor, musician, photographer, and handywoman who loves to get outside and explore this beautiful world whenever possible. I grew up in Augusta, Georgia, and have lived all over the US, though my home base for the last 13 years has been Denver, Colorado. I recently got divorced (though I’m very grateful that my ex-wife and I are still good friends) and find myself at a bit of a turning point in life. I’m feeling a powerful calling to spend a full year in France after spending two months there last year doing Workaways and having some incredible experiences. I’m currently working to secure my visa to make that happen!

My primary goal for living in France this year is to become fluent in the language, primarily through connecting and having conversations with people. One of my favorite ways to connect is by working on shared projects—and of course, I also love sharing food, music, and exploring outdoors together! I have a long-term dream of running a bed & breakfast, conscious living space, and/or retreat center, so another goal is to stay at several retreat centers to gain inspiration and clarity around this potential project.

I lead a very active lifestyle and especially love hiking, biking, and walking as ways to explore a new area. Since I won’t have a car, this is also how I plan to travel within France—using the amazing train system to get between Workaway stays. I’m hoping to stay in most places for at least a month at a time to get a more fully immersive experience.

Skills I can offer:
Photography and videography: I will be traveling with my camera if you need photos or videos of your home and/or projects. You can see some of my photography here: www.mcleod9creative.com.

Construction: I spent 6 months during the Coronavirus shutdown working with friends in construction, so I’ve developed helpful skills with building—though I know there’s always more to learn! I have also done many DIY projects around my own home. I feel most comfortable with carpentry but am always open to learning new things.

Kids / Teaching: I love kids and have some teaching experience. I worked as a tennis coach for kids between 5–18 years old and have also taught music and acting at summer theatre camps. I’m also a very proud aunt to an adorable niece and nephew (ages 2 and 5) who I absolutely adore. I’d love to have kids of my own someday.
