We’re Rob (28) and Mariam (27), a couple living in Montreal who are all about outdoor adventures, good food, and meeting new people. We love hiking, trying new dishes, and listening to music from all over. We’re pretty easygoing, enjoy chatting with others, and are always curious to learn about different cultures and ways of life. We’re excited to travel, lend a hand wherever needed, and hopefully make some new friends along the way.

Rob is learning Spanish and Mariam is learning French. We don't necessarily have english teaching skills but are willing to be conversational partners to english learners!

Que habilidades tienes?
Rob is a graphic designer by trade, focusing on branding, web design, typography, photography, and illustration. Before his career as a designer he spent time as a line cook in a restaurant in Canada, and has worked at hostels in Vienna, Austria, and Chefchaouen, Morocco managing bookings, checking in guests, preparing rooms, cooking for guests, etc. He has also worked on construction projects that include roofing, deck building, demolition and painting. Recreationally, Rob has been camping since he was a kid and has skills in canoeing, kayaking, navigating, and bushcraft .
Mariam has a BA in psychology and has been working in childcare for the last 10 years and special education for the last 4 years. She has worked in schools, daycares, privately and in clinics as a behavioural therapist, and one on one in childcare. Her job requires high levels of organisation, time management, flexibility, and multi tasking, as well as care and attention to people's needs. Back in Pakistan, she grew up raising chickens and geese in her backyard. A very eager and quick learner, she is a highly adaptable and ambitious person who moved to Montreal, Canada, from Pakistan 8 years ago to pursue higher education and loved it so much she decided to stay.
Together we cook and bake, tend to our home vegetable garden, and work on small passion projects.
