Hello!

I am about to begin my work sabbatical and want to travel back to Portugal. I've had the chance to visit Portugal a few times both for work and holiday. And it's become my favourite place to visit. So I hope to move there in the future.

I'm passionate about the outdoors, and my favourite activities are hiking, cycling and swimming. In addition, I'm a huge animal lover, and donkeys are one of my favourites! I have an 11-year-old dog who's the love of my life, but unfortunately won't be travelling with me this time.

I'd love to work/ volunteer in a rural location and get back to nature.

I've been self-employed for seven years. In those years, I've started three businesses, including renovating a run-down heritage building into creative studios and hosting various events. We did all the work except for some structural updates in the building. Painting and finishing were my areas of expertise. And after the renovations, I managed events and the artist studios.

I'm one of four partners in a clothing brand focusing mainly on denim apparel ( we manufacture in Portugal ). My role in the company has been in customer service and shipping logistics.

And in the past year, I helped open two restaurants in Vancouver with my life partner. Most of my work experience has been in hospitality. I have 20 years of experience in serving and bartending.

I like to work a lot, can work autonomously, and take direction well.

I love to cook, eat good food, and drink even better wine. My days off work are spent eating lunch or dinner out with friends and heading to the forest for a hike with my dog. I recently picked up a birding book for forest walks.

If it's raining in Vancouver, which it does a lot, I picked up rug latching this past winter, and it's a very relaxing pastime.

I currently have a restricted driver's license here in BC, after one more test I'll have my full license.
