Aloha :) My name is Summer and I’m currently completing my Master’s in Marriage & Family Therapy online, with long term goals in equine-assisted therapy for children, and this summer I’d love to spend August living and working abroad while continuing my studies. I’m based in Hawai‘i, so I’m especially excited about the opportunity to experience life somewhere completely different for a month.

I’ve been taking horseback riding lessons this year and would love the chance to further develop those skills. While I’m newer to riding specifically, I have over 10 years of experience in animal care and hands-on horse handling and ranch work, so I’m very comfortable around animals and with all the tasks that come with this kind of environment.

I also currently work with kids and love being around them, so I’m always happy to help with families or in settings where children are part of daily life.

Being outdoors, working with animals, and connecting with new people brings me a lot of happiness. I love helping with cooking, and I’m definitely not afraid to get my hands dirty , whether it’s mucking stalls, grooming horses, or pitching in wherever help is needed.

I’m reliable, positive, and motivated by curiosity and learning. I look forward to contributing, gaining new skills, and connecting with the people and places I meet through this experience!

-10+ years animal care & ranch work experience (including hands-on horse handling)
-Comfortable with grooming, feeding, mucking, and general farm tasks
-Currently taking horseback riding lessons; eager to develop riding skills
-Experienced working with children (childcare, play-based learning, creating supportive environments)
-Enjoy cooking and helping with meal prep & household tasks
-Hardworking, adaptable, positive attitude, and not afraid to get my hands dirty

In my free time, I love painting, hiking, and surfing. I also started practicing archery this year and really enjoy learning new skills like that. I also love spending time outdoors, exploring new places, and meeting new people.
