Hello! My name is Sharon and I am from Melbourne, Australia. I recently quit my job to travel full time for at least two years and fulfill a life long dream to learn to speak Spanish.
I have travelled extensively since the age of 18 always staying in hostels (no matter how old I was) because that's how you meet the best people!
I am 52 years young and super active. I have recently ridden a scooter solo around parts of Indonesia, climbed multiple volcanoes, learned to scuba dive, free dive and I long distance swim in the ocean whenever I find somewhere with warm enough water 😂
I don't smoke or do drugs and only drink small amounts mostly on special occasions - weddings, birthdays and New Year.
I eat plant based food but do not force my dietary requirements on others, I understand we all have our own journeys in that regard.
If I am chosen for a Workaway that cannot cater for me then I am happy to discuss alternative arrangements. As long as I have access to a kitchen and fresh fruit and vegetables I'm happy.
I will be travelling through Central and South America from February until June and am hoping to get some Workaway placements in order to get an authentic experience of how it feels to live in that country and improve my Spanish.
Although I like to engage with others I also cherish my private/quiet moments and being able to have alone time is a must for me - it's how I recharge my batteries!

I have hosted numerous Couchsurfers and house/petsit on multiple occasions and have excellent references.
I am a 500 hour qualified yoga teacher. Mostly I use this expertise to deepen my own practice but on occasion, I have assisted teachers with adjustments of their students in classes.
I have extensive experience with reception and customer relation duties and working in busy, dynamic environments.
I have renovated three of my own homes as well as a friend's so
I have excellent DIY skills when it comes to repairs, painting, laying carpet, removing tiles etc! And if I don't know how to do it I will always teach myself.
I also love garden maintenance and keeping a well presented and organised space. To me a clean space equals a clean mind.
I cook but I won't say I am the world's greatest chef - I can follow recipes and have several of my own that I draw on regularly.
I am licensed to drive a car and scooter and have an international driver's licence. I also ride bicycles.

I am pretty relaxed with accomodation however it MUST be clean, this is not negotiable. Sharing is not a problem however I do prefer sharing with females only where possible.
