    Hey everybody :)

My name is Maxi, I'm a 22-year-old girl from Germany.

I lived in Germany until summer 22, until I did my A-levels at a Waldorf school. I have no particular plans to settle down right now and I try to use that time to get out of my bubble and into new ways of living . My current goal is to learn a LOT from and with people, doing this, work is a crucial part for me. I'm so open to the world and all the experiences I have had so far, motivated me to get to know more great people with big hearts and a lot of knowledge :)

Having lived most of my life in the city, I moved to search more for rural living. I am a quite lively but calmly person and would call myself rather an introverted than extroverted person. But that does not mean I don't enjoy company :) I love people, I love to discuss about human feelings, behaviors and all kind of thoughts.

I was a competitive equestrian vaulter for nearly 7 years, so horses and any form of sport isn't new to me. Additionally, I did some weightlifting in the past and a lot of mountainbiking and last summer I did my first thruhike, the Via Transilvanica in Romania.
When I still went to school, I worked as a part-time vegan chef and baker for 4 years, and I still enjoy especially baking as a comfort skill. So if I can use that or somebody wants to teach something new, that's always great.

I decided to do workaway because I think it's a great opportunity to gain work experience for a person of my age. During my time "on the road", working, I just hope to be able to gain many physical abilities but also get thrown into a bunch of different social structures. My awareness for political and social problems is rather high, getting to know more of the world is part of the learning process. I was part of activism around Germany, for example Lützerath, and I like to meet people who challenge the way the "typical society" thinks and lives.
As I said, I would like to just learn a lot, especially about handcrafts, gardening, farm life and animals, but also about living together in community. I think, for me, my life right now should be a challenge in a way, and I am very open to everything that may come and look forward to any experiences and friendships I can take with me :)

Greeting and lots of love from me!

I would love to practice my Russian but I lost a lot. I also started Spanish as a little hobby when I have to kill time

  • Que habilidades tienes?

During my busiest times in school, I recognized, that I really struggle with focus and absorption, when it comes to paperwork and desk-work. That's one of the reasons why I want to focus much more on physical work in the future.

I grew up in a household with many cats, rescue dogs and chicken. My experience with horses is based on my time as a vaulter and coach at a horse stable. Important to mention that I never worked with very young or old horses! As a coach in equestrian vaulting, I trained kids and adults from age 4 to age 20, from beginners to competitive athletes. My mind about the typical way of handling animals in our society has really changed. Also, I realized that I looove just to care for animals. I worked around goats, chicken and horses a lot in the past years, so yeah, even if it´s simple, I really like to take over these caring tasks.

I grew up in a household where my parents didn't even had a circular saw at home. So all my knowledge about the tiniest reparation or construction comes from the last few years, working on farms. I also worked for a carpenter the whole winter 24/25 which was incredible fun for me, hard work but aaah I miss construction work and am planning to start my "Ausbildung" in carpentry next summer. Basically, all the workaways I have done until now included any form of some crafts and gardening.

I am very motivated to learn many new things! Be it a new language, craft, art, social skills or anything else. I just don't want to be stuck in the house all day and have something to do :)

I usually buy vegan but also eat non-vegan stuff from the dumpster/rescued food. I can adjust my diet to a certain level, especially when I see that it would take a lot of effort to change what is normally eaten.
