Hey everybody :)

My name is Maxi, I'm a 21-year-old girl who comes from Germany.

I lived in Germany until summer 22, until I did my A-levels at a Waldorf school. Since then I try to live a life that will nourish my soul but also satisfy my body to the fullest. I have no plans to settle down and lead a typical working life in the near future. My current goal is to learn as much as possible from and with people, work is a crucial part of this for me. I'm so open to the world and all the experiences I have had so far, motivated me to get to know more great people with big hearts :)

I prefer a rather slow way of living. Having lived most of my life in the city, I adore and appreciate living and working in nature and with animals. I evolved to be a rather adventurous, spontaneous person. I am a quite lively but calmly person and would call myself rather an introverted than extroverted person. But that does not mean I don't enjoy company :) I love to make new friends and meet a lot of different kinds of people, but am also really happy with living by myself, and it is no problem for me to be alone.

I was a competitive equestrian vaulter for nearly 7 years, so horses and any form of sport isn't new to me. Additionally, I did some weightlifting in the past and a lot of mountainbiking, right now I found my joy in bouldering, climbing and hiking!
When I still went to school, I worked as a part-time vegan chef and baker for 4 years, and I am still very much in love with cooking and especially baking. So if I can use that or somebody wants to teach something new, that's always great. Probably, I will bring my sourdough starter with me haha

I decided to do work away because I think it's a great opportunity to gain life experience for a young person of my age. During my time "on the road", working, I hope to be able to grow a lot as a person mentally and gain many physical abilities. My interest in political and social situations is very high, getting to know more of the world is part of the learning. I was part of activism around Germany, for example Lützerath, and I love to meet people who challenge the way the typical society thinks and lives.
Lastly,I would like to just learn a lot, especially about handcrafts, gardening, farm life and animals, but also about living together with nature and as people. I think, for me, my life right now should be a challenge in a way, and I am very open to everything that may come and look forward to any experiences and friendships I can take with me :)

Que habilidades tienes?

During my busiest times in school, I recognized, that I really struggle with focus and absorption, when it comes to paperwork and desk-work. That's one of the reasons why I want to focus much more on physical work in the future. It makes me a lot happier :)

I grew up in a household with many cats, rescue dogs and chicken. My experience with horses is based on my time as a vaulter and coach at a horse stable. Important to mention that I never worked with very young or retired horses! As a coach in equestrian vaulting, I trained kids and adults from age 4 to age 20, from beginners to competitive athletes. My mind about the typical way of handling animals in our society has really changed and I do not support the way of animal treatment which is very common, anymore, especially with so-called working animals. Also, I realized that I looove just to care for animals. I worked around goats, chicken and horses a lot in the past year, so yeah, even if it´s simple, I really like to take over these tasks.

I always wanted to learn more handcraft skills and gardening. I had the opportunity to help to renovate a kitchen in November ´23 which was super cool for my knowledge about wood and construction in general, for gardening I really want to dive deeper into the topic. Basically, all the workaways I have done until now included any form of some crafts and gardening. I love it, but I don't have any specific, "professional" background of this, except maybe lessons in school...

Due to the busy schedule of my parents, I was on my own early on and therefore grew up relatively independently. That's why I also don't usually find it difficult to work independently and/or alone. I just want to feel comfortable enough in doing what is my task, so I won't have the fear of doing major mistakes.

I am very motivated to learn many new things! Be it a new language, craft, art, social skills or anything else. I just don't want to be stuck in the house all day and have something to do :)
