During my gap year I'm going to travel to Northern Canada in August and from there continue my little round-the-world-trip to Australia (via Hawaii??), where I'd love to do a Workaway too.

Hi, I'm Manuel (18 years of age) from Northern Germany. I started engaging with Workaway, because I'm curios to learn about regions and cultures beyond my comfort zone and local roots. Over the years I developed a deep passion for other countries and geographies. Once I'll graduate from highschhool in June, I'll have plenty of time and motivation to explore travelling and extended stays abroad. I'm into many kinds of sports, love outdoors and and good music. I especially enjoy uuntouched wilderness, the vastness of nature and bikepacking.

Moin ich bin Manuel (18) aus Norddeutschland. Ich bin bei Workaway eingestiegen, weil ich neugierig bin, Regionen der Welt und ihre Kulturen kennenzulernen, die sich von meiner Heimat unterscheiden. Schon jetzt habe ich eine Leidenschaft für andere Länder und Geographie. Im Juni habe ich meinen Schulabschluss und danach viel Zeit und Motivation für Reisen verschiedenster Art und längere Auslandsaufenthalte. Ich liebe fast jeden Sport, die Natur und gute Musik. Besonders mag ich die unberührte Wildnis, die Weite der Natur und das Radreisen.

Que habilidades tienes?

I'm someone who's always willing offer some help when asked. This could be helping with renavations, gardeing, moving or small DIY jobs. I'm openminded to pick up new or challenging tasks and consider myself a quick learner. As far as sports is concerned, I tried out many different kinds and have actively played soccer, basketball and volleyball over several years. Picking up physical work is not a problem, I rather be outdoors than doing desk work. As a student, I don't have any professional experience, but currently work part-time in a supermarket.

Ich bin jemand der häufig gefragt wird, bei Dingen mit anzupacken. Das kann beim renovieren sein, Gartenarbeit, ein Umzug oder kleine handwerkliche Arbeiten. Ich bin offen für neue und schwierigere Aufgaben und kann Techniken schnell lernen. Auch habe Ich viele verschiedene Sportarten ausprobiert und Fußball, Volleyball und Basketball viele Jahre im Verein ausgeübt. Ich bin mir nicht zu Schade für körperliche Arbeit, lieber an der frischen Luft als am Schreibtisch. Ich habe keine Berufserfahrung, da ich bis vor kurzem noch Schüler war, aber ich jobbe aktuell in einem Supermarkt.

I love riding my road bike and go on bikepacking tours. I'm comfortable undertaking things on my own, but I'm also a family person as the youngest of four siblings. From home and among friends, I'm used to spend time together, for example during meals or while playing board games. In those moments, my phone can stay in my pocket and I'm generally striving to limit social media consumption.

Ich liebe Rennrad fahren und Bikepackingtouren. Ich kann auch gut Dinge alleine Unternehmen, bin aber auch ein Familienmensch, als jüngster von vier Geschwistern. Von zuhause und mit Freunden kenne ich es, gemeinsam Zeit miteinander zu verbringen, zum Beispiel beim Essen oder Gesellschaftsspielen. In diesen Zeiten kann das Handy auch mal in der Tasche bleiben, generell versuche ich meinen Medienkonsum zu begrenzen.
