Hi there, how are you doing?

I left a 'high demanding career and always on' life to seek a much more peaceful and calmer lifestyle. On this journey, I am keen to learn about alternative ways of life, living an off grid and offline life as much as possible, connecting with conscious and loving humans. I am very happy to get stuck in with any of your ongoing projects and help with things that needs doing. My main motivation to do work away is to meet people and get to know them and their lifestyle. Please check out my skills section for what I can help with.

I have many interests (psychological, philosophical, creative, artistic, spiritual and health, etc) and rich inner life. I am also an ambivert, very happy in my solitude as I am in the presence of people. I regularly walk, meditate, write and do art and craft projects in my own time.

Some of the things I like to do and can help with(but not limited to):

DIY, Farm stay, gardening and vegetable growing: I have experience with gardening, growing vegetables and am willing to learn new skills and methods that are bio-diverse friendly. I have some experience in DIY building projects and enjoy wood work.

Art projects: I like painting on 3D surfaces like furniture, tables, benches, murals on walls, fences, garden sheds, smaller items like bottles, plant pots, etc - so if you have an art project coming up or fancy co-designing a concept and help with executing it, I am your girl :D. I have some experience and am very happy to learn a new skill.

Cooking: I enjoy cooking nourishing plant-based meals. I have some benefits of Indian culinary knowledge, having grown up in India before I moved to the UK nearly 9 years ago. I am equally comfortable cooking for small groups or a dinner party(with some notice and help of course). So if you want to throw a dinner party while I am with you, you can expect me to be fully involved :D. Would be great to exchange culinary skills with other cooking enthusiasts too.

Animals: I love dogs and usually they love me too. I would love to walk your dogs if you have any. Happy to care for other animals too if you show me how, but don’t have much experience with other than dogs and cats.

I grew up in India until I was 23 where I studied and worked as an Engineer. I moved to UK early 2015 and have lived in Sheffield for the most part and most recently in Hereford. I worked in different sectors including social and community entrepreneurship, start ups and scalable business. I have coached many entrepreneurs from idea to launch, helped raise funds, and developed and delivered many programmes to support entrepreneurial and start-up journeys. If you have any ideas that need some momentum and help, I am happy to provide some coaching and advice while I stay with you.

We were very lucky that Lahari was able to come and stay with us for 2 weeks at very short notice. A more joyful, generous, chatty and motivated helper, it would be hard to find. We highly recommend her to any host.

I thoroughly recommend work away with Rebecca and Nigel at the Glyn. This was my first away experience, I had a lovely experience. Rebecca and Nigel have a wealth of life experience and are well traveled, so there was never a dull moment in my two-week stay there. Rebecca cooks with real passion and she went above and beyond to make sure I had… read more really good vegan meals, which meant sometimes she made an extra dish just for me(even I wouldn't do that for myself), I really appreciated her attention and care to make sure I had lovely food and overall a lovely time. Nigel is like a human encyclopedia if you are curious about anything on the farm or things in general. He has a calm attitude toward work and explains jobs before you start. Work mainly was straightforward and it was mostly outside doing things like weeding, cutting thistles, brambles, small hedge bushes, planting onions, flattening molehills, moving tree branches, cleaning lamb pen etc, I thoroughly enjoyed working outdoors in lots of fresh air . We also got to help set up the new robo lawnmower which you may get to see if you visit the Glyn. We had plenty of free time to explore the nearby area and they are always happy to take you to bus/train station if you need a lift to go somewhere. I also made a lovely friend Cat, who was the other work awayer from Germany, she was a lovely person and we had many laughs during our time with Rebecca and Nigel. We got to paint in our free time which was really lovely and the environment is so serene that it enables creative expression. I enjoyed being able to cook Indian food for them with Cat's help and they appreciated it very much. Watching the deer in the wild was a big highlight of the stay for me among other things like making friends with Monty(their dog), watching lambs get bottle fed, wonderful wildlife and birds, lovely woods and the picturesque surroundings. We got to explore quite a few places(Dolgalleu, Aberdyfi, Montgomery, Welshpool, Ludlow, Shrewsbury) around here based on their suggestions which were really useful. I had my car with me so the getting around was easier for Cat and I, but they are very happy to take you to bus/train stations for your days out. I had a great first work away experience with Rebecca and Nigel and thank them very much for their hospitality and generosity during my time with them. I wish them all the best at the Glyn and definitely recommend them for other work awayers.
