Hello! We are Ryan & Jillian. Jillian was a teacher for 10 years before deciding to take a break and travel around central and south America with Ryan. Her first 5 years of teaching was in an outdoor education setting (taking kids hiking, backpacking, and camping while also teaching courses such as water ecology, geology, or environmental science). She then taught science and math in a traditional classroom setting. Ryan has owned a pizza restaurant for 10 years now! When Jillian was ready to quit her job, Ryan left the business in the capable hands of his partner, but is expected back in September. We love being outside and exploring new places! We are both learning Spanish and even though its hard it is still very rewarding!

We have been learning Spanish since September. We started in Guatemala going to an immersion school for 10 weeks. We have enrolled in other schools as well when it fits into our travels and want to keep practicing!

We both love being outside and are not afraid of physical labor. We are both hard workers, but humble and will ask questions/seek clarification as needed. We both have done some DIY projects around our house so we have some light construction experience but are coach-able and willing to learn more! Jillian has experience with teaching children of all ages and Ryan has the extra energy to keep kids active. We are both clean people and enjoy clean spaces.

Ryan is the better cook, which means Jillian usually does the dishes after he cooks and it's a perfect balance for us!
