Hi there 🤗😄

I am Jelena 26 years old, half Serbian-half Hungarian girl, a dedicated advocate for community engagement and social change. With a background in horticulture, wine production and landscape architecture, I have always been driven by the desire to make a positive impact in the lives of others.

My journey into volunteering began when l was 22 years old. From the first volunteering project that included helping children, l've loved it. Since then, I have been actively involved in various volunteer initiatives, including European Solidarity Corps in Hungary and Poland for each one of then for a month, Workaway in Slovakia and Hungary, in a hostel and on the farm and few internships in Hungary and Novi Sad volunteering Service in my city for over 3 years. Through my volunteer work, I have developed strong skills in gardening, Video editing, living in community, being involved with small children, school activities, variety of Workshops, sport activities, film festivals and many more.

One of my most rewarding experiences was in Hungary, on small city Veszprém. That project was based on Veszprém as a European capital of culture and for one month included variety of projects : making workshops, decoration of gingerbreads, representing Serbia, having multicultural nights and for the most part, having fun🥳. Whether it's gardening, hand craft, creative projects meal preparing, cleaning the house, I am committed to using my time and skills to create meaningful change and empower communities and hosts. Last but not least, l have been doing volunteering through ESC program in the Netherlands! That experience help me a lot to become more growth oriented person, gain many valuable skills within garden and working along side with other people from different countries. l'm work driven person with a different kinds of valuable skills.

I am excited to continue my journey as a volunteer, collaborating with like-minded individuals and organizations to tackle pressing social issues and make a lasting difference in the world.

I'm currently taking a gap year from my Landscape Architecture studies to travel, meet new people, and continue growing—both personally and professionally. I have a strong background in horticulture, having completed high school as a horticultural technician, and I'm passionate about nature, creativity, and hands-on learning.

Over the years, I've gained valuable experience through various student jobs and volunteer opportunities, including:

Working in hostels across Europe

Participating in farm work in Hungary and the Netherlands

Assisting in stores and customer service roles

Volunteering with children

I truly enjoy working with people and contributing to community-oriented environments. I'm particularly interested in opportunities that involve:

Hostel or guesthouse assistance

Farm stays and sustainable agriculture

Volunteering with children or educational projects

In my free time, I enjoy creative projects like crochet—I'm currently focusing on learning how to make crochet flowers. I'm also passionate about languages and love learning a few basic phrases in every country I visit to connect more deeply with local cultures.

I'm enthusiastic, adaptable, and always eager to learn new skills and help wherever I can. I look forward to meaningful cultural exchange and contributing to the places and communities I become part of.
