My name is Ariel! I was born and raised In South Florida, in the U.S.. I am Cuban, Puerto Rican and Italian..Traveling and experiencing other cultures, traditions and ways of life and TRULY connecting with others from all walks of life is what makes my soul happy. I absolutely love nature and experiencing and appreciating the beauty of the world. Animals and children have the biggest place in my heart and bring me immense joy! I love helping others. I've learned the most beautiful lessons about myself and life through my travels and adventures and I look forward to making new memories and forming new relationships through Workaway. I have a 16 year old dog named Missy, who I've had since I was in elementary school (fourth grade). She is a sweetheart, extremely friendly with humans and ALL animals. I've traveled to the most beautiful places with just my dog and I know, traveling ignites a fire in her soul, just as much as it does in mine.

I absolutely love traveling, That is truly where I find the most joy in life. I have learned so many beautiful lessons during my solo travels and I am the best and happiest version of myself when I am out there exploring all of the beauty that this world has to offer! I love connecting with other people from around the world and making new friends, there is so much to learn from these experience experiences. I love children and animals so much they hold truly such a special place in my heart. I love doing any and all activities in and involving nature and adventure! I really want to become fluent in Spanish and to continue studying and practicing during my travels.

I have several years of experience in the customer service industry. I have great social skills, an incredible work ethic and I am a very fast learner. I love connecting with people, accomodation and respect towards others come as first nature.

I have 5 nephews ranging from the ages of 19 months old and 10. I also have a younger sister who just turned 10 years old as well. I have been heavily involved in the lives of my nephews and have cared for all of them since they were newborns. My sister and my nephews fill my heart with so much love and joy. I truly love children and have years and 6 babies in my immediate family alone that I have been solely entrusted to care for since I was a teenager. I love connecting with kids, doing fun activities with them, helping them with studies, teaching, caring for them and preparing meals. I'm naturally very empathetic and have very maternal instincts. Anyone who knows me, knows they can truly rest assured that their children are being treated with so much love and care when they are left in my care.

I grew up in many different households growing up but the one thing that remained the same was that there were animals in every home I lived in. Just like kids, animals have a special place in my heart. My grandmother has rescued many dogs and cats over the years and we always had multiple dogs, cats, fish and birds at a time. In my mothers home we had Pitbulls, rabbits, two pigs and a racoon at one point, who I loved very much. I grew up around so many animals and I'm so grateful for that. My grandmother raised me to treat animals with the ultimate love and kindness. Needless to say I have tons of experience caring for animals and I genuinely love working with them. I've also worked as a pet sitter for in house pet sitting, boarding and dog walks/ drop in visits. I also have experience administerring oral medications to pets.

I enjoy cooking, especailly Spanish dishes and I'm quite good at it! However, I also enjoy experimenting with other kinds of foods. I love and take pride in cooking and baking from scratch using real ingredients. I also enjoy and have experience making and preparing teas, juices and smoothies. I know many great vegetarian and vegan recipes as well.

I am very responsible and clean. I got my first job at 15 years old, my first apartment at 18 and I've essentially been taking care of my dog and I since then. I love helping my loved ones out with chores and things to clean around the house. My parents put me to work around the house quite early and taught me how to properly clean and take care of a home.

I have worked as a social media assistant for someone with a large Instagram and social media following. I performed daily tasks such as editing and creating posts including reels and stories on Instagram promoting a brand and products sold. I would send discount codes out to customers who subscribed for a free digital product to promote sales and strategize opportunities with the owner on how to generate more sales. I had access to the social media account as an assistant, so I was able to answer any questions, comments, and concerns from customers through direct messages. I would also create newsletters and daily or weekly posts to be sent out to customers on a subscribed email list and through the Etsy seller platform as well.
I also have experience posting content on my own social media pages and growing a following.

I have experience caring for a huge garden on a huge property. The property is over 100 acres with 7 above ground beds, a greenhouse, an inground garden with about 9 beds, a small herb garden and fruit trees and many plants all throughout the property. I have experience caring for all of these plants, tons of fruits, herbs and vegetables. Planting seeds, transplanting, pruning, fertilizing, harvesting etc.

I'm also very handy any know how to use many power tools. I have experience with woodworking projects including using table saws to cut wood, angle grinders and sanders, nail guns etc. And I also have experience staining wood, painting, caulking. I love creating things and working on these types of projects always happy and eager to learn more!

I love reading, rollerskating, and doing any type of activities outdoors. I first visited Costa Rica in December of 2022, it was extremely healing and I fell in love. I said that one day I would move there and I ended up making the move happen exactly a year later, just me and my dog. I lived in Playa Hermosa for the first two months, which I loved but I relocated to Jaco for convenience since I didn't have a car. I lived in Costa Rica for about 6 months and then my father had a health scare, which resulted in me moving back to the United States. Thankfully everything is okay and I am ready to come back and explore more areas of Costa Rica and experience different opportunities through Workaway.
