Hi!
My name is Aleksandra and I live in Rovaniemi, which is the capital of Lapland. This is also where Santa Claus lives! ;) I have recently graduated from the IB- Diploma programme at high school. I'm planning to take a gap year or two before going to university, where I hope to study international relations.
My family owns a tourism business and we have been hosting workawayers since I was 6 years old. We are a bilingual family, my father is Finnish and my mother is English. Because of this, learning languages has always been easy for me and it has become a great interest of mine. I have a baby niece and nephew who are half Spanish and I would also like to improve my Spanish for them. Family is very important to me.
My biggest passion in life is traveling, immersing myself in new cultures, learning and teaching languages and seeing all that the world has to offer. I value staying active and having a sporty, healthy lifestyle. I also love animals and nature's beautiful landscapes and scenery.
I hope to learn more about different cultures and ways of life. My oldest sister is a diplomat and I would like to work in the same field as well one day. My other sister is at university studying medicine and my brother works in our family business. I'm a social person and I enjoy spending time with my friends.
I have already gained some work experience by doing various different jobs, such as teaching Finnish, hotel cleaning, waitressing, and entertaining children as an elf in Santa Claus Village:) Currently I am working at a ski resort until the winter season ends here.
I look forward to all the adventures Workaway has to offer!

I would love to be fluent in Spanish some day. I'm also interested in learning French. I would like to improve my Swedish and be better at German too. I have helped my friends improve their English conversation skills and I'm giving private lessons in Finnish.

I'm a fast learner and I work well under pressure. I have completed a basic lifeguard training and I am a strong swimmer. I got my drivers license at 17 and I'm used to driving a manual in difficult conditions. Because of my high school studies, I have had to live away from home for three years. This has made me a responsible person. I am tidy and I have always done my share of the housework. I know how to cook and I am interested in learning new recipes.
