I can only agree with all the Workawayers before me and say that Leda, Nataša and Emilio made me feel welcome from the very first second. My main task was to speak as much German as possible with Leda. She is such an amazing, open, interested and attentive girl, and we bonded very quickly over our shared interests. Communication with Nataša and Emilio was open and clear from the start. I could ask them any questions I had and always felt heard and seen. I particularly remember the long conversations with Nataša and her hospitality. Not only did she accompany me to the train station for my trip to Milan, but she also took me to the airport at the end and looked after me when I got sick. I also greatly appreciated Emilio's cooking skills and kindness! Bergamo itself is a beautiful city. There is so much to see, you can quickly reach surrounding cities such as Milan by bus and train, and when the weather is nice, you can spend hours just walking around the city and enjoying the atmosphere. Unfortunately, I had to leave earlier than planned, but thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to stay with you and I would be very happy to see you again!

Elke has been an incredible volunteer. Someone who doesn't shy away from taking ownership in the project, is multidisciplinary, and very easy-going. She takes initiative, is always resourceful, and embodies the lifestyle. It has been such a great pleasure and support to have Elke participate in our project. Anyone would be lucky to host her. Our doors are always open.

Great time and fun jobs, especially building a Christmas tree :) As i dont speak French dictionary was good to have available. Thank you for hosting and having room for Shana as well!

Jordany is a fantastic individual — smart, talented in many areas, kind, thoughtful, clean, and well-mannered. He is computer-savvy, a great cook, and a genuinely lovely person. It was an absolute pleasure to host him. While he was with us, Jordany helped with an incredible variety of tasks. He assisted with cooking, sculpted beautiful rice kittens, and even built and decorated a gingerbread house. He varnished, picked up various items we needed around the city, and was wonderful with our hyperactive dog, Isabel. Jordany is a joy to be around — always kind, thoughtful, light-hearted, and positive. He also helped translate a house guide for our household appliances for future guests and got along exceptionally well with people from many different backgrounds. At one point, he even chopped down a banana tree! We truly miss Jordany and hope to see him again one day. We are very appreciative of all the work he did while here and would highly recommend him to other hosts. We wish you all the very best, Jordany.

I volunteered here for six weeks. I came with the goals of improving my English, enjoying summer while it was cold, dark and wet at home, hopefully having a cool time and broadening my horizons. I was more than satisfied in every way; it was a super great experience. First of all, from day one you feel very welcome, the whole staff are very interested and always friendly. The volunteer supervisor trains you very well, you are never overwhelmed and can always ask questions. You quickly notice that the hostel has a lot of experience with volunteers, which was perfect for me as my first volunteer work with Workaway. The clear requirements and fixed structures ensure a good overview and transparency with the requirements for volunteers; you are never surprised by unagreed things. The tasks at the hostel provide a good structure to the day and allow you to meet open-minded travellers, so the evening or weekly programme often takes care of itself because you get to know lots of like-minded people. Any problems can be addressed at weekly meetings and in general, but these are usually very brief as there is nothing to criticise. Thank you very much for the great time at the hostel, which I will certainly remember for a long time to come!

We are incredibly grateful for the time, energy, and dedication Timothee brought to our organization. From the very beginning, he went above and beyond what was expected, consistently showing genuine passion for helping us and our animals. We cannot thank him enough! His positive attitude and willingness to step in wherever needed made the most meaningful difference to both our team and the animals we serve. We would welcome the opportunity to work with him again without hesitation and highly recommend him to any organization seeking an outstanding volunteer.

Though I wasn't there very long (under 2 weeks) I felt very welcome there. An interesting and diverse group in Nalangil, I enjoyed building the stairs and shelving, and rebuilding and completing the laundry/shower block. I hope to return in February or March, 2026. A very different experience from most of my many Workaways, similar to Mullumbimby in NSW. There are no llamas.

My experience here was mixed. I stayed for three weeks and left very unexpectedly. Positive: The house is beautiful, and you will meet a lot of new people, as one of the tasks is to prepare the booked rooms for guests. The other task is housekeeping. After a few days I began to enjoy the work a lot and was looking forward to the tasks. In exchange, you have your own room and can eat with the family or use everything from the kitchen. Alicia is a great cook, loving mom, and an inspiring person. Álvaro, her husband, is very kind and always open to sharing his knowledge. You can dive into long conversations with him. He will also take you by car to the next city if needed. Their two boys are probably the coolest kids I’ve ever met!! Both have great characters, are intelligent, funny, and in general fun to be around. Negative: While you are required to give one month’s notice if you want to leave, a single mistake is enough to get you replaced. I was kicked out immediately after I asked Alicia to speak a bit more kindly to me. This part of my experience was particularly rough and sad, especially because I had just started to feel truly at home. Overall, I’m grateful I met this family and believe our paths were meant to cross.

It was a pleasure to welcome Clement home, and his presence was a delight. He easily adapted upon arrival and immediately brought a positive energy that made the home feel very welcoming. He was incredibly helpful in the garden, and even the most physical tasks never deterred him; on the contrary, he excelled at them. He never gave up, whether tired or inclement weather, maintaining his motivation and determination throughout. His ability to adapt to all kinds of people and situations, whether interacting with Workaway participants or residents, his constant concern for others, and his incredibly communicative smile made everyone feel very comfortable around him. We will cherish this as a wonderful memory of our time with him and look forward to seeing him again someday. Nuri

Hosting Loong was an absolute joy and truly one of those experiences that stays in your heart. From the very first moment, we clicked instantly, and it honestly felt like welcoming a close friend rather than just a Workawayer. Loong has such a warm, kind, and positive energy that lights up the space around him. He is incredibly motivated, enthusiastic, and always ready to help with the biggest smile. Every single day, he brought so much dedication and care into everything he did. No matter the task, he approached it with genuine interest and a wonderful can-do attitude. His help was invaluable, and having him around made daily life easier, lighter, and more fun. On a personal level, spending time with Loong was simply lovely. We had deep and meaningful talks, lots of laughter, and really special moments cooking together. He was a fantastic help in the kitchen, and seeing his joyful, appreciative reactions to my cooking was such a pleasure — it genuinely warmed my heart and made those shared meals extra special. Hosting Loong was an enriching, happy, and memorable experience. I’m incredibly grateful for the time we shared and would welcome him back anytime with open arms. Wow! If you're looking for the definition of positive energy you need to come see Andres! The happiest and kindest person you could imagine, and what an amazing place and exchange! Wonderful setup with clear tasks and creative freedom a must do on your trip through the country! I spent about 10 days here and Andres, I will see you soon again my friend.

Juliette was our guest at our hazelnut farm for about a week, and I was extremely pleased with the experience. She possesses a very strong sense of professional ethics and approached every task with care and precision. Her attention to detail and reliability made a huge difference, and I could always count on her to complete any job thoroughly and responsibly. Julie fue voluntaria durante un período de tres semanas, y su aporte fue sumamente valioso tanto en lo práctico como en lo humano. Colaboró activamente en tareas de pintura, mostrando compromiso, prolijidad y constancia. So much love, so much laughter, so much passion, so much eagerness to learn and improve - from the students to the management. I stayed for two and a half months at this extraordinary place, and I am so grateful. The hard work that is done by the founders, the school management, the teachers, the aunties and uncles, the drivers, and the security guards is for the best cause out there - a brighter future for the next generation. The fact that the school's focus is on the English language is so smart, since this might be the largest door opener for potential future opportunities for these wonderful kids. How volunteers are treated is exemplary. Over the whole time, they did everything to make you feel welcomed and comfortable. Therefore, I believe all privileged volunteers should, next to other activities, definitely put effort into fundraising activities, since this is so easy to do and crucially needed in order to carry out this amazing work in a future-oriented and sustainable way. Asante sana! I will come back :)

Annie and Liam stayed with us in month of November. We had nice experience with them and they both helped us in evening classes. They both are very good with children and also helped us to set up Computer classes in school. We love to meet you and host you again soon.

Lauri and Becky stayed with us almost 2 weeks in December and we had a wonderful experience with both of them. They both are very good teacher and human being. They always keen to help in english maths and evening classes even in school about some social issues. They also help us to teach basic photography skills to the girls and we love to host you guys again. Good luck for both of them😇😇

Emma and Ove are some of the kindest souls I've had the pleasure of connecting with, and I'm so grateful that my abrupt change of plans allowed me to do so. They are both incredibly understanding, gentle, compassionate, and intelligent. I stayed here for 3 weeks--though I wish I could have stayed longer--and I plan on visiting again in the future. I was given a variety of tasks to choose from based on how I was feeling that day, and also had flexibility with my hours. I always felt safe and comfortable speaking with both Emma and Ove about anything, knowing how understanding and accommodating they are and how much they genuinely care about my comfort and safety. They are both very lovely to talk to and we had some really great and interesting conversations, but at the same time there was never any pressure to be social, which I really appreciated as someone who can easily get drained socially. I would say this placement suits someone who is fairly independent, as much of the work is self-directed and the accommodation is separate from the main house, so it can get lonely if you are on your own. That being said, they give very clear guidance and communication and were always more than happy to answer any questions that came up. And the ducks, chickens, and bunnies right outside your door are great company to have. It was also very easy being vegan here and my fridge and cupboards were stocked with produce and everything I needed :)

O Lúcio e a Andrea são um casal muito simpático, educado, cheios de bondade e com muito para dar. Partilharam connosco a sua casa, conhecimento agrícola, yoga e experiência de vida. Foi uma experiência muito enriquecedora e que recomendamos muito!!

They are an amazing family! I love them with all my soul. We had quality time together every day. We cooked, ate, played together, did training and excursions together. And all of those happened in a natural way, because we created everything with joy, keeping our hearts and minds open. We took care of each other. At the end, I felt that I was part of their family. They are really nice, lovely and open-minded people. We had great discussions and amazing activities. The kids are wonders. I love them like my little siblings. They all made my first experience as a workawayer unforgettable. I am so grateful for everything. Thank you that you exist. I love and appreciate you! We will meet again for sure.❤️☀️💚
