I spent a week with Ana and we worked together on some things in the vegetable garden and the orange-orchard. Ana is very friendly and patient. She helped me to rediscover some of my lost Spanish vocabulary. She introduced me to a lot of people in her surroundings and pointed me to some cultural events in Altea. I felt very welcome. The cultural-social center she has founded offers many interesting activities to some of these the workawayers are invited to attend. I wish Ana continued success in her endeavors.

We were blessed to have Tobias with us for a week. The days passed quickly and were full of an interesting variety of projects. Tobias is willing to help with heavier jobs and was happy to haul dirt by the wheel barrow full for the teacher and families that attend the local kindergarten. Tobias made the job extra super fun for everybody by hauling a pile of kids for rounds in the wheel barrow as well!! It was lovely to watch. Tobias also picked up the artistic spirit like an old pro. He designed clay roof tiles with drawings for the local children to paint, as well as drawing a few for himself to paint and leave with us for beautiful new house decorations. Tobias helped witha ceramics workshop in the public school 8th grade, and I greatly appreciated his extra set of hands during that activity. Thank you, Tobias, for the handful of times you shared a soccer game with the neighborhood boys, and for the many times you washed the dishes! Thank you for you kindness and openess, as well as for so generously sharing your awe for nature and views and insights into life and the how's of things. It was a pleasure for all of us to have you around for a while. The biys send their love and their greetings. Peace.

Aleksandra and Anatolii were truly exceptional volunteers and we feel very lucky to have had them here. Over four weeks they helped us build our bamboo structure. What stood out most was their initiative. They showed passion for cacao processing alongside or fixing things around the cabin on their own time, approaching every task with the same positive attitude and care. Beyond the work itself, they were a real joy to share daily life with. Kind, warm, open-minded people who brought great energy. We wish them all their best on their journey and recommend them wholeheartedly to any host looking for motivated, reliable, and truly lovely volunteers. Gracias por todo, Aleksandra y Anatolii! 🌿

I spent three wonderful weeks with Caroline and Antony, and it was truly one of the best experiences I have ever had. As this was my first Workaway, I wasn’t completely sure what to expect, but they made me feel welcome from the very beginning. It felt as if we had known each other for years, which made my stay even more special. Everything was so kind, relaxed, and enjoyable, and I felt at home throughout my stay. Thank you for your hospitality, your warmth, and all the great memories. I would do it again anytime and can highly recommend this experience to other Workawayers. Hopefully, we will see each other again next year!

We had one of the most amazing times of our 9 month trip volunteering here for 3 weeks. The work was structured but chill, meals were super yummy (best pancakes and scrambled eggs ever) and the setting halfway up a volcano in a treehouse made for incredible views. The best part though were the people. The other volunteers were awesome, the guests were generally friendly and easy going as the place attracts these types of people but most of all the manager Ana and co-owner Laura were incredible (wish we could have met Ellen too). We hadn't had a home away from home for nearly a year but this was the closest we got. The format of 3 days on and 3 days off worked perfectly cause it meant we weren't stuck in one place for 3 weeks and could still explore Nicaragua with all the new friends we made during each stay. Oh and the Friday rave parties were some of the best fun we'd had so far. Couldn't recommend enough!!!

We spent almost 10 days at Gabrielle's Rose Cottage place. We enjoyed the peacefullness of the surroundings , the cute sheeps, and the kindness of Gabrielle, an happy, energetic and independant woman. Weeding the bedplants and the terrace+ mulching, fixing and painting an old bench and repairing a little wood structure were the Jobs that we did. We had a Lot of time to rest or to enjoy a little walk. We also went together to a small permaculture meeting where we ate some delicious saucisses artisanales, from the "happy pigs" farm which is a Gabrielle's neighbour. We slept in a rustical little house next to hers, and had plenty of healthy food to well feed ourselves( including the freshly harvested raspberries and blackberries !) Thank You very much Gabrielle!!! Maybe a next time, who knows.

With such an encouraging profile I expected a different person to the one who arrived and showed me none of the qualities evoked by the profile. It was very unfortunate that Debra had had her FB account hacked to which she devoted a lot of her energy. However that is no excuse for not being at all proactive, not seeming to care about anything and #redacted# approach in all her tasks. When being asked to do something in a way that was not her way Debra took umbridge. In 15 yeras of hosting I can not remember someone that made as little effort to fit in to life here. #redacted# she does not care to listen. It was clear that Dedra is looking for a new life and she soon realised it was not here so soon lost all interest. Inspite of this I took here to the beach twice, out to a bar for an evening and to a Carnival for which she was grateful. Debra became the second person in many years not to write in my guest book, she could 'not be bothered'. That sums her up.

Nos encantó tener a Eli como voluntaria en nuestro hostal. Siempre fue amable, responsable y muy dispuesta a ayudar. Trabajó muy bien y fue de gran ayuda durante su estancia. Fue un placer convivir con ella y la recomendaríamos 100% a cualquier host. ¡Gracias por todo, Eli! 💛

Valantina is a fabulous workaway. Conscientious, caring and hard working. She is also great fun to chat to and has a super positive attitude. This makes it very easy to work with her. Along with 2 other volunteers , Valantina took care of the Sanctuary whilst I was away for 6 days and when I returned the animals were all happy relaxed and well cared for. If you have the chance to host Valantina, do. She is a lovely person

We were extremely fortunate to have Samuel as a Workawayer. He's a truly polite guy, always willing to help, In addition to helping us tidy up the garden and vegetable patch, he took excellent care of our dog Luna and cat Buddy. Even though my husband had a health issue during his stay that required a lot of work, Samuel was truly been helpful. We can only recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and responsible guy. It would be our immense pleasure to host him again if his journey brings him back to Italy. A sincere and immense thank you, Samuel! You are truly special!

Dieter and Patricia are veny nice made me feel confortable as soon as I arrived ! We shared very pleasant experiences such as gardening, woodorking, dining or walking. I've spent a month with them and honesthly the time went so fast... I did various jobs here, I've looked after the chickens, the goats and Benny, removed quiet a bunch of weeds and help Dieter with woodworking. We spend time to discuss about various things and that was great and very interesting moments. Dieter and Patricia are kind and were really present for me. We can see the valley from the garden and the view is so beautiful. I've spent a couple of hours walking in the forest, hiked in the mountains and just looking at the landscape and drinking my coffee. The bedroom is confortable, the bathroom is new and the kitchen equiped and I could use their washing machine. I also had the opportunity to visit Basel, the journey is pretty convenient thanks to public transports and Dieter brought me with him to spend a day in Freiburg. Dieter and Patricia were out during several days in a row so I've been alone during this time but all was ok ! They just asked me what I needed to cook and brought it back to me, their products are also very good (jam for example... ;) That was my very first experience as a workawayer and it was great, I can only recommand you to meet Dieter and Patricia and to spend some weeks in Kühlenbronn !

It was so good to have Lauren around..she is a beautiful person! Nice, clever, picking up all tasks and getting along very well with everybody here. Hope to see her again!

Lisa's lovely house in Hazelbrook is cosy and full of art and books and interesting things, and, along with Aloy the dog, she is a welcoming and generous host. The workload here is light; I did some land clearing and tree pruning, a bit of housework, and kept Aloy company when Lisa was at work. Lisa is a great cook and made some delicious dinners! An excellent place from which to spend a little while exploring the Blue Mountains, with plenty of walks a short train journey away.

Annette is a wonderful host who is incredibly generous and goes out of her way to help you get the most from the workaway experience. The work is light and enjoyable. Annette explains things well to ensure you understand what is expected and how thing work and where everything is. The location is amazing and the perfect place to relax and unwind in nature while still being accessible to nearby cities via the local bus route. Annette provides lots of food options and cooked lots of lovely dinners. She is also a very interesting person and a joy to spend time with. The horses, dogs cats and chickens are all lovely and easy to interact with and I am just incredibly grateful to have had this experience with such a lovely genuine and kind host.

I’m really grateful for amazing time I have spent with Pauline and Niek. It was my first time with Workaway and I couldn’t imagine a better place! From the beginning Pauline was very communicative and provided much useful information about how to get to the nearest city where she picked me up. Both Pauline and Niek are very knowledgeable and cheerful people. We were talking a lot about the area and shared our stories every evening. It was beautiful and I was able to feel like a part of the family. I was provided a lot of privacy as I had my own room and bathroom which was very comfortable. Pauline and Niek are excellent at cooking and the food was delicious! I was happy to help them with preparing meals and learned how to make pasta. We tried cooking with many edible plants and it turned out to be fantastic. I was able to practise my English all the time and also my Italian with a really sweet neighbour, Andrea. We mainly worked in the morning hours in the garden. We did a lot of things from planting new flowers to cutting the grass. I really enjoyed it because there was always a beautiful landscape around and no rush. I learned many new names for the plants in many languages. Our tasks were also painting the furniture, making pasta, sometimes cleaning the swimming pool and cleaning after meals. We spent afternoons together, always doing something interesting which I really loved. We explored the area, went to the mountains, prepared the fireplace and played board games. I really recommend this place to nature lovers! Pauline and Niek are lovely people who like to share knowledge and talk about life. I will definitely remember the days spent together with a smile on my face and hopefully I will return one day! Thank you once again Pauline and Niek! It was lovely to meet you and spent beautiful time together :)

Pia was a wonderful Work Awayer! We really enjoyed hosting her. She was very kind, polite, clean and personable. We had many enjoyable conversations on a variety of topics and I even asked her for advice a couple of times because she handles herself so well. She is very experienced with kids and it shows! She was very confident with my daughter and also shared insights about best practices from the industry of childcare which I found helpful. Pia was also very self sufficient. I offered her rides a lot but there were plenty of times she was happy to just walk to town or back and this made it quite easy to host her. She also has experience with cleaning and was very helpful with that as well. When she left I asked her if she could kindly clean her cabin and to my happy surprise she said she had already done it! She takes initiative, is respectful and I highly recommend her.

I had a truly wonderful time staying with Ines and Doug, and their lovely dogs. I felt extremely welcomed, made to feel at home, and relaxed in their presence. Their place is a complete gem. It felt like staying in an intimate paradise. It was a pleasure to help them with daily tasks such as walking adorable Snoopy in the natural areas around. Gardening and painting was thoroughly enjoyed by myself, and I had another workawayer staying at the same time which made it all even more fun. I would highly recommend their stay for anybody willing to help out, and spend time in their company and little oasis! I would not hesitate to visit them again. Thank you so much, E x

Max IS very nice and friendly. He was working hard the few days he was here with his Camper. He IS learning fast to be more constant and disciplines...thanks for ur help and nice energy, hugs

I had such special time with Sem and Halil (and two most adorable dogs Pablo and Vadi)! Halil was so helpful and keen to share his knowledge, both practical and theoretical. We learned many useful skills like how to set up water irrigation systems and take care of vermicompost. The workshop he has built is a gem. Sem taught us delicious Turkish dishes and was always happy to help me with my Turkish practise. She also makes beautiful jewellery and gardening! The place is built with such love and surrounded by amazing mountain views! The guesthouse which served as our accommodation is beautifully designed and has everything, including a washing machine and really comfortable beds. The work we did was mostly physical and outdoors, for example clearing waterways, weeding the garden, helping to set up the pool for the summer season, restoring steps and watering trees. For our days off we were dropped off in town or the local bus stop and were free to explore the area, always with lots of good recommendations though! Sem and Halil also took us to see the Saklıkent canyon and invited us to join a friend’s wedding which was beautiful. I felt so welcome. Thank you so much for sharing your home and dinner table with us so generously! I’m looking forward to see what life brings you next and hope to visit you again :)

We had a great time here. The hosts are incredibly nice, welcoming, and generous. We really enjoyed helping them clean up the garden. We ate so well! The place is perfect, and we loved the pool too and the hot tube. A big highlight of our stay was when they took us to visit the famous Ya Ha Tinda Ranch near the Rockies. It was an amazing experience ! They are truly lovely people. Thank you so much for everything! Victor & Ewen
