Descripción
Hi, My name is Carlos and I am 37. I´m living in Cazorla in between countryside and mountains. I love Nature and Art. I´m running a touristic lodgement project in this beautiful area, but not working alone. As well, my family (parents and sister) takes part of it. There are many things that are able to do: basic maintenance tasks (wall painting, decorating painting, wooden maintenance, gardening...). Of course, any other suggestion or idea will be very welcome.

As we live 10 minutes walk to the Natural Park, there are many options to enjoy: cycling, walking, climbing...As well, Cazorla is an interesting and historical village where always there is something to do: Teatre, live music, sightseeing, going for a drink...

I have many beautiful memories from this workaway experience and I was very happy to be part of this project and to be around these people! I even spend my birthday with them and Carlos helped me to make it amazing ( after 3 days from my arrival, he dedicated hours of his time to eat churros, hiked with me and to drive me to the mountains Sierra… read more de Cazorla for a sunset in a magic place that I will never forget). I will be always grateful for this and for all the rest of the experience.

I stayed 2 weeks in a nice clean little apartment with everything necessary. Being November, sometimes was a bit cold but the braserò can help a lot ;). Carlos and his family did everything to make me feel at home, which indeed happened!

I loved the work and I remember myself singing during completing the tasks- which says a lot about the calm joyful atmosphere here and that I felt appreciated for my work. I painted an apartment (dorm room, living, bathroom); I varnished wooden tables and chairs; and also a bit of decorative painting. The work was never too hard for me and Carlos joined me sometimes but even when he didn’t, he gave clear tasks, all the necessary tools and materials. I was working around 4 hours per day, 6 days/week.
In the morning I was taking the breakfast in my apartment and the lunch was in general with the Carlos the father and sister (Blanca). The father is amazing cook ( traditional Spanish meals). And also very funny person. Even if my Spanish was limited in these first weeks in Spain, I managed to communicate with them and have fun and understand a bit the Spanish culture from inside. Blanca is also nice girl, I’m sorry I didn’t have the occasion to spend more time with.
Consuelo, the mother, is still working and was not much around but she;s so sweet and caring that she made me a little present for my bday! They were all nice and warm people to me. Carlos is very understanding, respectful, calm, mindful person, genuinely curious, interested in art and in love with nature, hiking and biking.

We sometimes went for walks in the evening in the beautiful villages around- I saw some raindeers on a hill!, , to hike in the free days or around the city. Cazorla is a very beautiful place with many many olive trees, white houses and many tapas bars, surrounded by mountains. Simply charming.

Thank you for everything and I hope to come again someday, when we can continue the decorative project for your place! I wish you much success with your business!

Jeroen and Anne (their dog, Boca, too) are very special beings. Very gentle in everything we shared. Good way of managing the stuff they do. Pretty perfectionist, with is really good. Nice energie and nice way of focusing life. Was a pleasure being hosting them. Thank you, Jeroen and Anna! We wish all the best!

This was a very nice workaway experience, very much recommended! Carlos is a very nice and friendly host (and an excelent cook)! He showed us around beautiful Cazorla and we made historical walks with the dogs in the mountains. Thank you Carlos for your hospitality!

We stayed with Carlos and his family for two weeks. We've lived in our apartment with every service and enough food for every day. We've also got to know Carlos family and had a few meals together. Carlos speaks good english and is easy to communicate with.
