Come and experience off grid living in central Portugal.
Ola! My name is Finn, 36, from UK. I've been working on an off grid living project since summer 2021 and the place is now ready to welcome people to stay and help vision and shape the next stages of the project.
Already an existing ruin has been renovated, which now provides a comfortable living space. A large workshop has also been built. The current projects for this autumn & winter are:
Building a cabin
Putting in veg gardens
Building a polytunnel
Building compost loo
Building a sauna
Fabricating replacement yurt covers
Tree planting
Land clearing
A lot of the work here currently is quite physical, so suitable to anybody who likes getting stuck in and doesn't mind getting their hands dirty. The work will be for 5 hours a day, 5 days a week.
All food will be provided, with shared meals in the week. Normally vegetarian.
Accommodation is either in the cabin that's being built or bring your own campervan, there's lots of flat ground to park up.
In the off time there is plenty of opportunities to socialise, get creative, make music, do yoga and mediation or spend time in nature. At the weekends there's lots to explore in the local area, waterfalls, river beaches, markets, mountain walks or venture further afield to the coast which is about 1h30m away.

Ayuda
As above, help required is mostly outdoorsy things around the land. Any previous experience with gardening or using garden machinery is a plus.
