Descripción
We've started to set up a learning centre near Chiang Rai to promote natural building techniques mainly utilizing earth, straw, timber and bamboo. We are only a couple (French, Thai) and really need some help from motivated volunteers to help us to move forward faster and make our (ambitious) project come true as soon as possible :)

Volunteers will learn natural building skills suitable in various climates and part of the world, as well as organic gardening skills. We usually spend with volunteers time for discussing about some local/global issues related to environment, self-reliance etc

Simple accommodation in a private tent (one or two person).
Accomodation in a private tent, 3 daily meals for free.We are about 30 minutes from Chiang Rai. You can get there by taxi (about 300-400 bahts).

Meals will be mostly with meat or fish for lunch and diner as we order food from local restaurants which have no vegetarian dishes options. Volunteers having vegetarian diet requirements will need to prepare their meals for themselves, unless they are flexible.
Wifi and electricity (220 V) are available.
We ask all volunteers to have their own health insurance, and be sure they are physically fit for such work.
We ask all volunteers to refrain from any illegal drug use or excessive drinking in our centre.

William and Caroline gave us a great help and satisfaction! They stayed 10 days and helped for making earth bricks, cutting bamboos, sieving soil after digging it etc these tasks request efforts and endurance and they managed to do it! They are friendly people, able to adapt to our simple living conditions. Have a nice travel Caroline and William!

Valentine came to help us to build with earth on our land to finish a yurt, make earth bricks and also prepare more garden beds. She could deal with physical work quite well, doesn’t mind to get dirty, and showed a positive attitude. She is kind, polite and could understand and accept our basic life-style. We will miss her!!

The 13 days at Baan di doi were intense in experience and learning. Alain likes to share his knowledge and give his time so that the volunteer stays go well.

I spent one week with Alain and Fon. I really enjoyed these days. I've learned about construction with bamboo and adobe, cultural exchange, cooking with Fon (delicious) ;) . Alain is really open to share all his knowledge. The place is very peacefull and simple, and they take care of volunteers! I really recommend this beautiful place!!
