With - currently - 2 families (and 1 dog) we have started a cohousing group in an old farmhouse in the southern part of the Netherlands. Our 800m2 garden is starting to get more and more edible, and we are setting up a vertical vegetable garden in our patio.
Every day we feel happy to live in the part of the Netherlands that is considered by a lot of people to be the best holiday area and we love to share that feeling with you! And we hope we can travel-while-at-home when meeting energetic volunteers from all over the world.

We are happy to share all our knowledge of Dutch culture and language, and discuss all we know about sustainable living (never enough, but a good start), gardening, architecture and project management.
We love cooking and have a well-stocked kitchen, so if you want to learn about weekly meal prep, try plant-based cooking and pick up some new recipes, joining us in cooking is definitely an option.
And ... you would be staying in a real Limburgse Hoeve.

A stay of (minimum) 1 to (maximum) 2 weeks is preferable for us. Please let us know which weeks you would like to join us.
Teams of 2 are most welcome!
We really could use your help in the garden and keeping the household going, while we are working on building the cohousing buildings.
Main tasks:
- painting
- help with (sustainable) insulation
- help with clay-plaster panels
- help in the (edible) garden and with foraging for our dinner.
- help with the vertical vegetable garden
- overall maintenance in the house
- building a storage place for the wood
- preparing breaks, lunch and dinners
We are always around on the premises to help you with the task, work together or answer questions you may have.
Le's check together after a couple of days if expectations, tasks & living together work out the way we all hope/plan/want.

We have a bedroom in the house available for our 2 (sharing a double bed) volunteer guests.

We work weekdays between 9:30 and 15:00 with plenty of break time. Wednesdays and weekends are off.
Meals are provided all days during the stay and we have regular coffee/tea breaks. By the way: we eat mostly plant based.

The surroundings of where we live in the southern part of Limburg are wonderful (for hiking & biking). You can borrow our bike for a ride if you want, or borrow our dog for a walk :), he really likes that!
If you like swimming, bring your swimsuit because there is a great (in & outdoor) pool at a cycling distance.
The train station is 15 minutes on foot and the train takes you easily to Maastricht & Aken or Heerlen - where you can make a tour to visit the many outdoor murals. The nearest train station Klimmen-Ransdaal was voted - again - to be the best train station in the Netherlands.
No smoking in the house and buildings (preferably not at all), no drugs, moderate alcohol.

We have good wifi (yes in a part of the garden too) and on most of the terrain good 4G/5G too, so digital work in the garden is definitely an option.

Sofian stayed with us for almost 2 weeks and worked very hard - even though the tasks we were working on were really tough -. One thing we learned: we should have had him cook for us in the first week, so we may have had the time to enjoy another fine French cuisine dinner > Sofian is a great cook!

Irene is a very (pro)active, and energetic, and positive person and it was a pleasure having her around for the week. She was open to new tasks (and took out a full floor with a sledge hammer -> very Pippy Longstocking-style), ideas and sharing hers. We would love to re-invite her to stay with us in the future!
