  Dear workawayer. We are a lovely family of four, consisting of twin boys (11 years), a German mother (46 years) and a Catalan father (48 years). Our family lives in Sant Quirze del Valles, a small town close to Barcelona (26 km distance). There is a frequent train connection from our town to Barcelona city centre; the ride takes 40 minutes. Our house lies within 10 minutes walking distance from the train station. If that sounds like something that you are interested in, we are looking forward to speaking to you and welcoming you to our home.

  We speak Spanish, Catalan, German & English and can help you improve any of these languages, but of course would also love to give you insights about our culture. We (the parents) have lived abroad ourselves and also spent time with host families with wonderful memories. If you are interested in a language course or any other special activities, we will be glad to help you find what you are looking for during your time off. Of course, we will also give you tips about places to visit and help you plan your itineraries. If we drive somewhere during your time off you are welcome to join us.

  We are looking for someone to take care of our kids from Monday to Friday to pick them up from school in the afternoon, prepare/have breakfast with them at home, play with them, help them with some homework and sit with them to practice their music intrument. Preferably, we are looking for a German speaker to help the boys with their German skills. Of course, we need someone who is responsible and loves to be and play with kids, having fun and being creative together.

  We have a house with a terrace/garden where we often do barbecues. During the summer, we have a pool installed. We offer you a private room with meals included. The house has 2 shared bathrooms.

  During your time-off you can enjoy nature or city nearby. We have mountains (such as Montserrat) to do hiking or mountain biking, the beaches and the great city of Barcelona, full of culture, good food and experiences to be explored.
