Hello, great to cross paths with you! I'm Laura a Kiwi (from New Zealand) living in Nacala, Northern Mozambique! I've been in Northern Mozambique over 9 years and I am founder of a small grass roots, Christian faith-based non-profit.

We work to empower and equip vulnerable young women with true identity, education, new skills and employment. We teach artisanal skills development, hospitality, beauty, health, literacy, english and identity.

We are looking for some specialised volunteers in the following areas to help us in the areas we work in 2025.

    - Cook/ chef/ baker teacher - someone experienced in cooking and baking able to help teach bread baking, and a brunch focused menu and baked goods. February 15 - June 2025

-Barista - for refresher training between June - November 2025

    - Sewing / experienced in sewing and able to assist in our Artisanal Development course and Design Studio prototyping.

    - Hairdresser - In May our beauty vocational training begins, we need someone experienced to train in an intensive block course to include, cutting, styling, treatments, and basic colouring. June - November 2025

    - Nail technician - to help in our Beauty Vocational Training, training in the area of pedicures, manicures, gel application, soft gel tip application and nail art. May - September 2025

    - Hospitality people - experience in cafes and restaurants to help us in our Hospitality Vocational training in the areas of service, running kitchens, organisation of the business back end. In April we launch our non profit cafe which provides jobs for the women graduating our training. processes and management training for our hospitality vocational training students creating a way to help them out of the cycle of exploitation.

We're right on the Indian ocean which means swims after work on hot days, fresh seafood from the market, snorkelling or boat rides on weekends and a beautiful view. We’re 30 minutes from Nacala city (assessable with public transport) And we're only 2 hours drive from the beautiful historic Island of Mozambique with stunning Portuguese heritage homes and Mozambican culture! Here in Northern Mozambique it's summer all year round!

Myself and our team would would love to hear from you.

PLEASE NOTE as we are a formally registered non-profit organisation working with vulnerable people, we have an application process for anyone wishing to volunteer their time with us. We assess every application, however placement as a volunteer within the organisation is dependent on an approved application and space within our volunteer program.
