    Descripción

We are creating a small eco-community on a beautiful rural property in El Estrecho de Fuente Álamo (Murcia), surrounded by nature, open skies and quiet countryside.

Our vision is to build a place based on sustainability, creativity and cooperation. We are restoring old rural buildings, reusing materials, and slowly developing our own vegetable garden to become more self-sufficient.

Workawayers will have their own private accommodation, with space to relax, work, read or enjoy the peaceful environment. At the moment we can host up to 4 people, and we are also renovating an old farmhouse that will allow the community to grow in the future.

Although we live in the countryside, we are very well connected. We have direct access to the highway, so it is easy to reach Cartagena, Murcia city, and the Mediterranean coast, making it perfect if you want both rural life and city or beach trips.

Pets are welcome. Some of our current volunteers have brought their own animals, so at the moment we have a small dog and a few cats living on the property. We love sharing the space with animals and ask only that pets are friendly and respectful of others.

At the moment, most volunteers speak Spanish, but we are very open and happy to welcome people from any language or cultural background. As long as you can communicate in English, you’ll fit in just fine. The host also speaks Chinese, so multilingual exchange is very welcome.

  • Intercambio cultural y oportunidades de aprendizaje

Intercambio cultural y oportunidades de aprendizaje

Life here is very social and based on doing things together. We believe the best cultural exchange happens naturally — while cooking, working on projects, sharing ideas, or sitting outside in the evenings talking about life.

You’ll be part of a small group of people from different countries who live and work side by side. This creates a relaxed environment where you can practice languages, exchange skills, and learn how people from different cultures think and live.

We are especially interested in meeting people who bring new perspectives, whether that’s about eco-living, creativity, art, food, or how communities can work better. At the same time, you’ll get to experience the slower, more grounded rhythm of rural southern Spain, away from mass tourism.

Our goal is that when you leave, you don’t just take memories of a place — you take new ideas, friendships, and inspiration with you.

We love working with people who enjoy hands-on, creative and eco-friendly projects, such as:
    - Gardening and helping start the vegetable garden
    - Reusing and recycling materials
    - Sewing or repairing old clothes to give them new life
    - Crafts and DIY tasks
    - Creating decorative objects (for example lamps, art or furniture made from recycled materials)

If you are good with your hands, enjoy creativity, or care about sustainability, this is a place where you can really contribute and see your work become part of something meaningful.

In exchange, we offer a calm rural lifestyle, your own space, and a chance to be part of a growing eco-community in sunny southern Spain 🌞

IMPORTANT: Workawayers will NOT be asked to help with any business-related activities, with paying guests or visitors, or in spaces used by them. All activities are purely related to cultural exchange and personal projects within our private property.

Este anfitrión ofrece intercambio de idiomas
All languages are welcome here — we love having people from different countries and backgrounds. That said, it’s important that you can speak at least basic English or Spanish so we can communicate easily in everyday life, work, and shared activities. We see language as part of the experience: you can practice, learn, and exchange languages naturally while living and working together in the community.

  • Alojamiento

    Alojamiento

Volunteers will have their own private room, as we are restoring several small houses and transforming them into individual studio-style accommodations. Each unit is designed as a mini private space with its own bathroom and a small kitchenette, allowing for privacy and independence.

In addition, we have shared common areas, including a larger communal kitchen where we can cook and eat together, as well as gardens, terraces, and outdoor spaces to relax and enjoy the environment.

The property is located in a very safe and quiet rural setting, with security cameras at the main entrance and the entire finca is fully fenced, providing a secure and comfortable place to live.

We provide 3 meals a day as part of the exchange. Shared meals are something we enjoy and see as an important part of the cultural experience whenever schedules allow.

Volunteers will also have full access to their own kitchen area and are welcome to cook independently if they prefer. We live about 10 minutes from the nearest supermarket and usually shop together 2–3 times a week, so we can easily provide all necessary ingredients and accommodate dietary preferences.

Whether you prefer shared meals or more independence in cooking, we’re happy to adapt so that everyone feels comfortable and well cared for.

  • Algo más...

    Algo más...

Please note that the finca is located in a rural area and public transport access is limited. Connections to nearby cities do exist, but they are not very frequent or convenient, so having your own car is highly recommended. We have plenty of parking space on the property.

We also welcome volunteers traveling with campervans or caravans. There is a quiet area of the finca where you can park, and we can provide access to water and electricity.

If you do not have your own vehicle, we do have a shared car on the finca that can sometimes be used. To drive it, you would need a valid driving license and the appropriate documentation to drive legally in Spain (especially if you are from abroad). This can always be discussed in advance.

There is always someone on the finca who can drive, and we try to help each other out with lifts to town or practical needs. We value a cooperative, supportive community spirit, and we do our best to make sure everyone feels included and supported.

Our rural setting is ideal for those who enjoy combining remote work with nature, fresh air, and a slower pace of life. We are flexible and happy to adapt schedules so that digital nomads can balance their online work with helping on the finca.

Pets are very welcome, as long as they are friendly and well-socialized, since there may be other animals on the finca, including pets belonging to other volunteers. We simply ask owners to be mindful and responsible so that everyone—humans and animals—can live together comfortably. In the future, we are considering adding farm animals (such as chickens, and possibly even donkeys), and we would love to involve volunteers in helping prepare the facilities and spaces for these animals as part of the project.
