  Hello travellers,
  
  NO Yoga instructors, spiritual in the clouds people or any of these things please.
  We are looking for skilled respectful people, preferably 30yr and above with self esteem and strong character, please do not write us if there is nothing that you feel confident in creating or doing on your own :)
  
  You will receive everything that you need( we have been told the experience here is modern and normal, unlike the experiences our two pairs of travellers had so far ex: sleeping in tents, dirty houses, no food, etc.)
  
  We are Norman and Francesca, a young intercultural couple from Germany and Romania, living in the peaceful district of Viana do Castelo in a village called Gandra, 30 minutes from the coast and 20min from the beautiful Peneda-Gerês National Park ( one of the most iconic natural parks of the country, known for its beautiful landscapes, unique biodiversity, and rich cultural heritage.) , 10 minutes from the one of the oldest villages of Portugal named Ponte de Lima (I call it a small town, but the locals do not agree as they hold tight to the ''village'' status haha). The river is about 10 minutes walk from here and the path called Ecovia is great if you are a vivid walker, this road is exceptionally beautiful and hidden from cars and pollution so you can truly feel the nature and walk for hours if you wish.

  We live in a big 200m2 two floor house on a 2.000 m2 land and have big dreams about it.
  We want to renovate and make the indoors and outdoors cozier, more inviting and a whole lot more practical than it is now and hopefully see some real progress with your help. AS OF NOW AN EXPERIENCED CARPENTER WOULD BE OF MOST HELP.
  
  Some of the things we've done so far: We set up a solar system on the garage and one on the house and connected it to a floor heating system in the upstairs living room where we installed a new laminat floor ( the rest of the house has tiles) , we cleaned the whole plot of land from bushes, garbage, ticks and other unimaginable challenges left by the previous tenants. We build a small compost garbage from palettes, we planted a vegetable garden ( we would love help with permaculture and growing food as well as building a chicken coop and a fence around the property) we got rid of all of the mold and dirty ceilings inside the house, etc.
  
  
  Me, Francesca need help with art projects such as murals and wall paintings, setting up small nooks and wooden shelves, upcyciling old and antique furniture, painting the tile floors with stencils, general maintenance/ house chores -cleaning and with preparing food. Planting a flower garden is also one of my wishes.
  
  Norman needs help with planting fruit trees, building porches, maybe build in cabinets and custom made wooden furniture as well as with cleaning the pool depending on the season, watering the plants and setting up a winter garden and an irrigation system, feeding the pigs and cleaning their habitat area, cutting the grass, etc.
  
  If you have knowledge about eco building techniques, earthshipconstruction, self sustaining vegetable garden and raising or taking care of animals ( we have 2 pigs and a small puppy, but want to gather more animals), feel free to let me know.
  
  We like meeting new people and making experiences :) enjoying a home cinema night together or exploring the surroundings. We hope to make new like minded friends.
  We offer ingredients to make 3 meals a day in exchange for 5h a day of work. We have a lot of work and prefer people who are passionate about these types of chores, who are responsible and independent.
  We do not appreciate lazy people who only need a place to sleep and free food, but are not eager to give anything in exchange.

  cutting the grass, making a jacuzzi and a sauna, set up dreamy lights around the places, in trees and around the property, hanging some hammocks and making an outdoor cinema are some of the things we need help with arranging, but it really depends on the time in which you arrive.

  you will have your own private room and we will share the bathroom. You can come and go whenever you wish outside of working hours which as of now can be discussed and flexible. there is a bus 5 min away.

  braga is 30 minutes away and Porto 1 h, Viana do Castelo 30 min away and 1h Vigo, these are all places with culture and variety of activities, beautiful cities. Additionally, there are lagoons and waterfalls and the beach to name a few that you could check out. We can gladly spend time together and we can show you around or you can explore on your own or with other workawayers :)

  We are also working from home and are daily digital, the internet works perfectly anywhere in the house. You can have a coworker experience with us or have your own privacy :)

  We have more than enough space for camper vans and connection to the water, outdoor shower and you can use the closest and most convenient bathroom from the two inside the house and of course the kitchen. We are also travellers with van in the free time and can share experiences and go somewhere together if you fell like it
