Hello everyone, my name is Alba, I am Spanish and I have lived in Turrialba area for a few years where I started a permaculture project in the mountains. Now I live here with my little girl , born in October 2022 , my dogs, cat and Chickens;-)

We live in a place in this secluded Farm in the mountains of Turrialba where I host groups of volunteers to carry on the Farm tasks and therefore I need someone who would help me taking care of my liittle girl in the meantime as well as other things like some cleanning, laundry, etc...
We live here with very little access to electricity and signal arround the farm wich is something that we enjoy very much , as it keep us more connected to each other.
We have very recently managed to set up a small solar system at the host home and we are currently able to offer our visitors limited electricity and internet.
** There is a neighbour up the road that runs a small business where she offers meals, snacks, drinks and also offers laundry services.
We like to keep a simple life, enjoy to meet people from other cultures and would enjoy developing this space with the touch and vision of people that can share their knowledge and experiences while leaving here their beautiful footprint. The vision is to have a small community with similar values stablished here in the near future.

SOME THINGS TO DO WHILE HERE:
The area is an inland paradise for those who love nature and beeing close to the authentic rural life. This area is the craddle of rafting in the country, beeing close to the Pacuare river and also the door to a very beautiful and unexplored area of the Chirripó mountains, where the Cabécar indigenous culture inhabits.
Hiking the active Turrialba Volcano
Go hiking arround and explore the numerous rivers on the area
Birdwatching ( this is a very rich area of the country for this activity)
Enjoy your time in the library, as I have many books and manuals of interest in sustainable matters, as other type of readdings and novels that I lend to volunteers.

We hope to be receiving this helper to be taking care of the little one 🧡( currently 2 years) while we carry on the farm work with our groups of volunteers and help around with some cleaning, organizing, laundry...etc

We are currently offering an exchange position for next year for a minimum of 3 months or longer, on Childminding and Domestic Help. 🤸🏼♂️ Our lovely Child caretaker leaves after a year with us and we are looking for a person who would wish to take over her role and have this life experience 🌺🦋🍀, If things work out well you can stay as long as we agree.
Looking for a girl with some childcare experience, who is social, responsable and easygoing, with good communication skills.🧘🏼, ideally and English speaker.
My Daughter, Aura, is a very loving, funny, easygoing and smart little girl, she just turned 2 in October and my main interest is her well being and happiness while she grows in nature sorrounded by loving people and meanningful relationships.
This person would to be in charge of stoking the common kitchen in the mornnings , after breakfast doing some cleanning, laundry or whatever is needed arround while she takes care of the little one. On a normal day her help finishes at lunch time.
The organization of a normal day on the Finca is more or less the following:
We all meet up at 6:30 am in the common Kitchen to prepare breakfast together.
After this we start our daily tasks at 8 am untill 1:30 pm when we finish for lunch. Having a break for coffee/tea of about 30 min arround 11 am. Lunch is prepared taking turns, after which we clean and tidy the kitchen together.
Requirements:
-Not drug or alcohol abuse .
-Valid medical insurance in Costa Rica

I offer this person a space at the volunteers cabin where she shall share at times with another 4-6 volunteers that carry out farm and maintenance work. The cabin has an exterior dry toilet and an exterior shower both overlooking the forest. As well as a front space with hammocks, chairs and a couch.
The main 3 meals are included, and are mostly vegetarian.
Please let me now of any special condition before your arrival.

There is a few buses per day in the closest Town , about 1.8 km away, that will take you to the city of Turrialba, from where you can explore many of the previous options. We offer transportation options from and to the farm .
