Descripción
If you are looking for a peaceful place to spend some time and invest yourself in some Canadian country living, please consider contacting me to see if this would be a good fit for you.
I live in a very small community, along a country road, quite far away from the city. The closest one is a 45 minute drive, so it would be great if you have your own transportation or an international driver's license.
I prefer to host people with life experience, preferably over 50, but will host younger people who are willing to learn and get down to work. I am a very active/busy older woman who has a lot of knowledge to share and enjoy living this country life .
My home is on 80 acres of land, situated along a wild river and surrounded by mountains. I live in a typical older country home that is always needing some kind of work to be done. In the winter, I heat with wood. In the summer, there is a large organic garden to take care of. This is a great place to learn about country living and what it means to live in a remote place in Canada.
Other work that will be done this summer include: setting up electric fences to keep the bears, deer and wild turkeys out of the fruit trees; harvesting the fruit: cherries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, plums, pears and apples as they come into readiness. The busiest month is in September, with canning and putting food away for the winter.
Depending on the skills and interests you bring, the work could range from carpentry to gardening, pruning to plumbing, wood splitting & stacking to general household type work. . . painting, repairing, computer updates, maintaining the compost. . . . what ever seems to be needed.
Please note: wildlife abounds -- from wild turkeys to bears (see picture #2- bear in cherry tree). You must be prepared for life on the edge of wilderness.
References will be required.
Please write me for more information about being here. Please tell me about your interests, food preferences, activities you are interested in and your expectations for coming here.
Thanks!
Camille

Algo más...
Winlaw is an incredible town in a most remarkable valley. It has a welcoming and diverse community with a range of people who live here -- farmers, loggers/ tree huggers alike, artists, musicians, herbalists, off-the-landers, healers, gardeners, to name just a few. There's a second hand store, good restaurants, adventures galore. Pristine wilderness is its most notable feature.
