Angie house and dog sat for me during the summer of 2018. I felt totally comfortable leaving my home in her capable hands. She is a caring, thoughtful, energetic woman who works well with others. Both of my dogs were loved and well cared for, as was my home. I would highly recommend her. Thanks again, Angie, and happy travels in your next

The three weeks I spent at Camille’s place in Winlaw were an absolute delight. The Slocan Valley is beautiful and Camille is a lovely host!
The daily activities involved:
- walking the gorgeous dogs
- watering the yard
- weeding the garden
- picking copious amounts of berries & freezing them
- cleaning the house
The respite involved:
-
… read more hiking in the nearby hills
- cycling the valley
- floating on the Slocan River
- swimming in the lake
- reveling in the beauty
- enjoying the tasty treats & hospitality at Valley Kitchen cafe
- trying on outfits at Rose’s local thrift shop
Camille, thank you for your warmth and the delicious food! Thank you for entrusting me with your pups and your home while you were away as well. It was an honour.Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.

Peta and Scott are a truly remarkable couple who house/ dog sat for me for about a month. They came in the middle of winter and took on all the challenges of country living during one of the snowiest winters ever, which included lots of snow shoveling to keeping the house warm with wood heat. I enjoyed them so much, I asked them to stay on, which

Scot is an excellent, very skilled and experienced carpenter: framing windows/building walls/creating living spaces/organizing tools and work spaces. He also helped with everything from minor electrical repairs to plumbing. Peta helped in so many ways from sorting papers for income taxes, arranging, organizing, cooking, editing compositions, computer help, to keeping things running smoothly with her excellent eye for detail.
I feel very lucky as they came again this spring for about a month. Peta planned and undertook the development of my large garden, from soil building to planting and all that it involves, not to mention weeding. This wild and weedy garden benefited from her dedicated and steady work, even in the heat of the day. Scot helped with renovations and repairs around the house and beyond, including working/clearing the land, bucking trees and getting the firewood in.
Both worked with such a positive attitude, they were a joy to be around. Their smiles are most delightful, sense of humor and joie de vivre refreshing. . . thoughtful, kind, honest, dedicated are just a few of their many qualities that come to mind. But the best part? They could 'see' what needed doing and just got down to it. They had a relaxed yet focused way regarding any job they took on. They are mature and wise beyond their years and if you have an opportunity to have them come be with you, say yes! I cannot speak highly enough about them. My dogs also loved them and were very well cared for by both of them.
While I wish Peta and Scott well on their adventures, I also look forward to seeing them again during the fall season. I feel blessed having had the chance to get to know them, and for all of their help and hard work - I am so grateful.

When we initially commited to volunteer with Camille it was for a delightful 6 week winter house and dog sitting role. However, after meeting Camille and staying in contact during her vacation we developed a friendship that resulted in us staying on to volunteer with her for an additional 2 months.
Camille is an incredibly kind and generous

Her 2 dogs, Calla and Daisy, were a delight to be around and we looked forward to walking them daily.
There was never any pressure in the work that we did for Camille and she was always flexible with what we did and when we did it - renovations, housekeeping, cooking, snow shovelling, wood chopping and administration are some of the jobs we performed.
Whenever the weather was nice we were encouraged to go out and have fun. We loved exploring the property and surrounding Slocan Valley - hiking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and snowboarding all on her doorstep.
It was always a pleasure to spend time chatting, having a drink, watching a movie or playing a boardgame with Camille. She is very easy to get along with and we will always treasure our time spent at her lovely home.Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.

We stayed at Camille's last winter and we were tasked with looking after the two most beautiful dogs you could ever meet. The house is lovely, comfortable and cozy in a remarkable setting. We are so glad we stayed there and so thankful to Camille for everything.
We looked after the house while Camille was away which was a great experience in

We needed to keep the house in working order which involved keeping the stove lit, water running and cleaning up after ourselves. The dogs had their routines which we had to keep to and be attentative to their needs, and they rewarded us with their love.
We have many happy memories from our time in Winlaw and would visit again in a heartbeat.Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.
