Descripción
We are empty nesters living in a spacious home in beautiful Nanaimo (85,000 people) on Vancouver Island. I teach at the local university, and my wife runs a cake business. If you are looking for a place in Canada with mild winters and beautiful nature, this could be the place for you!
We are looking for help with our charity garden party on September 6, before and after the event. This would be perfect for a team of two!
We are also taking our small log cabin project near Sayward to the completion level. Get ready for a magical experience in a semi-remote setting surrounded by nature. Some DIY or construction experience and your own transport would be helpful, but not essential.
From November to early December, we host Nanaimo Christmas Village, a Christmas market that raises funds for the Nanaimo Toy Drive. How often do you get the chance to be part of creating a Christmas market from behind the scenes?
Other projects include general home maintenance, renovations, gardening, landscaping, cooking, shopping, helping at events, beekeeping, and more.
Some experience and a driver's licence are a plus. Couples are especially welcome!
We love meeting people from around the world and will do our best to make you feel at home. We can often pick you up from the ferry or airport. -

It was my first Workaway and I had a great time. You can expect really good food, cakes, cookies and so on. I helped them renovating a house and learned a lot about that. We played a lot of darts and board games. So don’t hesitate to contact them for a stay, they are really welcoming.
Cheers,
Leo
It was our second stop in Canada and we couldn't wish for a better one.
