We are a family of three - two kids 17, 14 and myself.
We needs some help for approximately 3-4 hours a day. (Not an AuPair kind of position).
Being originally from Germany, speaking German is important so you can help with daily German language practice with the kids. Homework assistance, of course in English. Kids also study Italian and French in school.
We try having all breakfast together and after the kids leave for school, you have off until 3 PM when school is over.
In the evening we all eat together if possible. Everyone who visits us is fully integrated in family life if wanted.
Ideal for 3 to 6 Month or even longer if interested but at least 8-10 weeks!

Board and lodging shall be provided with High Speed Internet access. TV, Netflix, AC. Gym/Yoga room available.

New York is approx 35 miles away, Train station is 1 Mile away. You have plenty time to visit the city or for weekend trips.
We are fully vaccinated.

H) If you are into Taekwondo, Karate, there is a Dojos nearby. (my son went there, he is a 2nd Dan Black Belt)

Many of our Workawayer's joint some cultural exchange groups in New York City.
J) We are a German/English bilingual household. This is a great place for cultural exchange and to improve your English skills. Especially when you study English in Germany and need a to stay for 3 month in a foreign country.

It's important that someone is in the house in the afternoon. Any general household help shall be appreciated but not essential, especially if you are a student needing time to study.
If the person applying has cooking skills you are welcome to feel free to use the kitchen as you would in your own home.
The family grocery shopping list can include items of your choice as well, provided it leans towards healthy eating.

We like having German speaking guests. So far, we had multiple European students (Lehramtsstudenten) with us who have to spend a semester in an English speaking country.
Alojamiento
We live in a one family house in a nice suburban neighborhood in New Jersey, 35 Miles west of New York City. You shall have a nice private room with internet access; exclusive use of a half guest bathroom.
You will also have access to the Living/Dining room and the family room thereby, Exercise/Yoga room. We have enough privacy for everyone in the house to spread out.
Needless to say, we hope to develop a mutual exchange of usual courtesies and respect.

Closest Airport is NEWARK Airport (EWR) not JFK.
Our local train station is less than 1 Mile away. We are in commuting distance to Manhattan.
We have nice areas near by in case you like long bike rides.
There are hiking trails within 10 miles.
We are approximately one hour away from the beach and also approximately one hour from the Poconos Mountains in Pennsylvania in case you like hiking or skiing.
Great Amusement and Water parks etc. in driving distance. (e.g. Six Flaggs, Dorny Park, Wild Water Kingdom)

Working during your free time is absolutely no problem as long it does not interfere with the the chores. There is really plenty of free time where you can do online work etc.
