I enjoyed my short stay on Greet's homestead. She has some good projects going on there and I think she’s gonna do a lot more. If you get the opportunity to pass through Holland and have a few days you should stop and help her out she’s a good smart person, excellent cook!! And I got some great ideas to take home and try to implement into my life.

Peter stayed for about 3 weeks on the farm and did a lot of different jobs during that time, i.e. Pruning trees and hedges, fixing gates, setting up fencing and the like. He can handle tools and electrical equipment well and his work is of excellent quality, he is very meticulous. Thank you Peter for all the jobs that you did for me.

During my stay Greet was very patient when teaching me Dutch, which I really appreciated. I also liked the fact that I was able to work independently doing things I like most, repairing things, gardening and general maintenance. The helpers room above the stables was big but lacked fresh air as the windows faced the stables which didn't allow for

Greet did all the cooking which was OK.
There is not much to do in the area except walking.
Greet is in need of a helping hand on her farm and appreciates any help offered but does also appreciates her own space.

Sindy did a lot of work on maintenance of the farm and the garden. She painted all the outside windows, doors and garden gates. She also did quite a lot of little repairs and in the garden and around the premises she did a lot of weeding. She stayed throughout the summer for about 4 months.
She is a dedicated worker and not afraid to get her hands

I stayed with Greet for 3 weeks and it's been a lovely experience. She's a friendly and welcoming person. Her farmhouse is beautiful and my room was huge. The horses, cats and her dog are all wonderful animals and I will miss spending time with them. We usually had our meals together and it was interesting to hear Greet's stories about her life
… read more abroad and her work with horses. The food was delicious and eating vegeterian was never a difficulty. Most days the work consisted of helping with feeding, mucking the fields and weeding. There's a lot of free time in which you can take the bike and explore the area. There's a beautiful lake very close by that is a must-see. Svenja stayed with me for 3 weeks. She helped me with looking after the horses, like mucking out the fields and the stables, preparing the feed and the feeding, cleaning up the premises, stacking a delivery of hay (some 80 little bales) and some weeding. She is a nice person who is always in a good mood and always willing to get the work done.

Berit stayed with me the summer of 2020 for 6 weeks. It was her first Workaway experience. It was very pleasant to have her around. She is a willing worker and responsible for the tasks that are given to her. Never had to remind, ask or check anything. The things she did here were mainly looking after the horses and the garden. … read more mucking out the fields and the stables, furthermore preparing the feed for the horses and feeding them 4 times a day, weeding of the vergetable garden and of the garden. She often helped with the cooking and also did some sanding in preparation for painting the outside woodwork. We never got around to the painting because the weather was way too hot.
She is a nice, modest and loverly person although a bit shy. She will be missed!
I wish her well in her studies in university starting this fall.

Xenia stayed at my place for about 6 weeks. She is a pleasant person and a very hard worker who enjoyed looking after the horses and cats. She takes on any job, does not worry about getting dirty and is strong. Staying with Greet was one of the greatest experience I had with work exchange so far. I really felt as part of her life and not only someone who is there only to work in exchange for food.
