Small Hostel right on the beach! In Ayampe, Ecuador

  Hello WorkAwayers!
  
  We are Franziska (German), Washington (Ecuador) and Clara (our daughter).
  
  We own a hostel on the beach in the little village of Ayampe (Ecuador).
  
  It has 6 rooms, a shared kitchen for guests, a kids area with games/books and a recently built coffee shop at entrance where we serve breakfasts to the guests. :)
  
  It's a relaxing place with individual decorated rooms and a beautiful garden with sea view.
  
  Your job as a volunteer would be mainly at reception. Do check-ins/check-outs, attend our guests´ needs, give tour informations, and help with general cleaning of the social areas.
  
  In Ayampe you can do some activities like surfing, swimming in the sea, kayaking on the river, horse-riding, hiking on the forest part of Ayampe, walking along the beach, exploring the islands nearby, go whale watching from June to September, birdwatching in our garden, reading (we have books in different languages), enjoying nature and silence.
  There's many different places to take a class of yoga, aerial silks, exotic dance, ceremonies and retreats.
  
  You can find a lot of nice places to eat as well, from vegan/healthy food to sugary treats and ice creams!
  
  If you want to see more you easily could go to Puerto Lopez (30mins by bus) where you can do some tours to Isla de la plata "the small Galapagos", Isla Salango to see the blue footed birds, or go diving to see green turtles and more. You could visit Los Frailes, which is a beautiful beach in the National Park of Machalilla, or go to Agua Blanca where you can learn about old traditions of a community and take a mud bath in a volcanic pool. If you are looking for some more action you could go to Montanita, which is a 30mins drive from Ayampe, known for its nightlife.

  You will get a grasp of the Ecuadorian culture and learn about the different working tasks of a hotel.

  Reception: We are looking for someone who can welcome clients in Spanish and English, using our check-in/check-out process, look after them, help when they need something, give tour informations, etc
  
  Occasional art works, such as painting flowers on a little piece of wood to be used as decoration.
  
  Help with general maintenance, handyman, gardener, general cleaning of the social areas.

  Private bedroom and bathroom in a separate house 1min walk from the hotel, with shared kitchen.
  
  Additionally to the room you will get free breakfast everyday, coffee on your shift, unlimited drinkable water (tap water is not drinkable in Ecuador!), could use some of the hostel´ surfboards for free, and get access to laundry ($1 each use).
  
  For the other meals you could use the guests kitchen to cook or the one in the volunteers house. If you want to eat outside, there are some cheap places as well.
