Hej! We are a couple in our thirties building our home in a very beautiful and calm place at Orust, a large and island on the westcoast, in the region of Bohuslän. We love beauty and consider the creation of this place somehow as a artproject . Johan has his own buildingcompany, specialized in tiled stoves and domes, but is now mainly home building the house. I, Sara, work in a waldorf kindergarden. Lives here also Lana and Elvis, our fourfeeted friends :)
Right now Johan is preparing the next step, which is to build a coupole in the ceiling out of bricks. It is an old traditional technique that has been used for a long time in Europe, in churches for example. In other parts of the world it is still in practice, as in Mexico where Johan learned to do this.
If you are a bricklayer and interested to come here to learn about this you are welcome to join us to work and live together.
Next year you are welcome to come help us with outdoor maintainenance work, some heavy preparation work for the housebuilding (clean old tiles for example), gardening, cooking and playing with our son.
Come here also to enjoy beautiful walks in the natural reserve forest, leading one way to a swimming lake (600m) and the other way to the sea (2km). And to share moments of life in its simplicity and its joy.
We speak swedish, english, spanish and half of us also speak french.
Please contact us if you have any questions or if you want to come, and then give us a small presentation of yourself.

We are openminded and interested in sharing our own and your life experience, and we believe every encounter is rich. We signed up as hosts both to get help, and to have "the world coming to us" since we cannot move so much until the house is finished.
We are living rather for our selves here, seeing our really nice neighbours and sometimes some friends. Life is filled up with the building project and the everyday family tasks, but we manage sometimes to get ourselves above all this and just enjoy the simple things that life and nature are offering us :)
Due to our little sunshine of one year and a half who gets to sleep early, nights are calm around here and we hope that you who consider coming here enjoy this calm evening-atmosphere, because otherwise you risk to be frustrated.
On the other hand, you can discover this beautiful part of Sweden. We love nature and would be happy to show you around here. There is a rowboat in the lake for you to enjoy, and there is a small sailingboat that in the harbour in summertime.
En este proyecto podría haber niños. Para obtener más información, consulta nuestras directrices y consejos aquí.
As mentioned above, this winter we have the coupole as our main project. Therefore we hope to find a bricklayer interested in learning about coupolebuilding.
The house that we live in is partly finished, there is a kitchen and a livingroom, where we also eat and sleep. The toilet is in a separate building in the garden, and we have got a shower situated in the kitchen next to the fridge ;)
There are two rooms for travelers. A small one on the top floor with a amazing view. And another nice one in a separate building.
Johan is vegetarian and Sara eats some meat, so it is easy for both kind of eaters to find there way here. We are interested in healthy eating. In summer we use a lot of vegetables and berries from the garden, and in automn mushrooms from the forest and apples from the garden as well. We also have our own honey from beefarming.
We eat only little wheat, sugar and milkproducts.
Johan bakes a sourdough bread from an ancient kind of wheat, and he's happy to share this knowledge.
We can come to meet you at the bus-stop in Henån, 15 min drive from our home. You can catch buses for Henån in Gothenburg (one change of bus), Stenungsund and Uddevalla.
