Come join our family on a beautiful ranch in northeastern British Columbia. I, Christa, am a veterinarian and work 4 days a week plus on call, Chance runs the ranch and we have two young children aged 3 and 6. We have about 200 cow/calf pairs on our ranch, horses, dogs and cats.
We are hoping to find someone you can come join our family starting September 2025 for 4 months (September to December). This position will involve getting our oldest on/off the school bus, dropping the youngest off for daycare on some days or providing childcare other days, some light housekeeping and meal preparation. There will be some evening and weekend work depending on my on call schedule and if Chance is away hauling cattle.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

We welcome Workawayers to join our busy little family in our social activities as well, weather going on a cattle drive, local rodeos or riding horses. Our ranch has interesting areas to explore. Rivers with fishing are close by, lots of amazing wildlife, the occasional night sky with northern lights. We have beautiful mountains that offer great hiking 1 hour away. We have a fabulous down hill ski hill approximately 2 hours away.
Workawayers will be primarily involved in childcare but will be exposed to all aspects of the ranch and there is opportunity to learn about cattle ranching, animal care etc. in Canada.El anfitrión ofrece una paga acorde al salario mínimo

We are looking for someone to come join our family, your primary responsibility will be taking care of the kids. The oldest is in school so will involve getting him on/off the school bus. Spending time with the little one or dropping her off at daycare. You will be responsible for making some meals and some light house work. Occasionally you will be asked to spend time with the kid evenings/weekends when Christa is on call. If interest or time permits there will also be opportunity to help out on the ranch, which is always busy. In fall this involves rounding up cattle from summer pastures and bringing them home, feeding and checking cattle. We do all the cattle work on horseback and if riding horses is something you enjoy you can certainly do that here! You will have access to a vehicle and since we live 1/2 hour from a small city (Dawson Creek) having a drivers license and being comfortable driving in a rural environment will be a requirement. You must be comfortable living in a rural space and making the most of what ranch life has to offer. We do love it, we love raising our kids in this lifestyle (they come do everything with us on the ranch) - but this way of life is not for everyone and can feel isolated at times if you are not used to it.
We have a large house so the basement can be your own space with a your own bedroom/bathroom and living space. We will share the kitchen space and you are encouraged to share meal times with us.Idiomas hablados
