I stayed in Grosio for about 3 months (January-March) and absolutely loved it. … read more Chiavenna where we also visited a goat farm and got to pet baby goats. In the winter, Dario, Elisa, Noemi and I also went skiing in Aprica.
The family is very welcoming and warm. Ersilia and Dario make sure that the Au Pair feels at home and the children (Elisa & Noemi) are exceptionally well-behaved, clever, and affectionate. Ersilia and Dario are very open to different dietary requirements since Ersilia is vegan. They always made sure to provide food that suited my preferences and were very appreciative of my cooking. Overall they were always grateful of everything.
Grosio is a rather small town, but there is a bus to Tirano, where you can take trains to other cities. On walks around Grosio one gets to experience a wonderful view with mountains, a river and goat/sheep farms.
It was a pleasure staying in Grosio!

It`s been a pleasure staying in Grosio with Noemi, Elisa, Dario and Ersilia. The landscape around is very beautiful, and I enjoyed very much riding a bike along a very scenic cycle path from Grosio to the next town or going on a hike in the mountains with Dario and the girls.

Ersilia is a great cook, I just loved everything she did for us. And thanks to her I know some great new recipes now;)).
Elisa and Noemi are both very gentle and charming- over the month I spent with them we built up a very close bond, and I already miss them...:((
We played cards together, did some german and also made some music together! The girls are very creative- you will never get bored spending time with them!
But they are also exceptionally patient if you have some language problems; thanks to them I could improve my italian very well!! Also Dario and Ersilia have been a great help in this regard:)).
One of my highlights with the familiy was the week we spent together at the sea, during their holidays. That was a very nice ending to a very nice time:).

Mia is a very kind, responsible girl and was very helpful and loving with our daughters, who got on very well with her right from the start.
Mia taught some German and English to my girls and also gave some boxing lessons to Elisa who had a lot of fun learning something new in a peaceful and joyful environment.

I am filled with gratitude and love! From day one, I was welcomed into the family very warmly and full of anticipation. Within a short time, I was able to create wonderful memories and experience adventures as they invited me on many trips such as to the water park, on hikes, to waterfalls, to beautiful castles, to parties in other cities, a
… read more motorcycle show and much more. Elisa and Noemi (the daughters) are two very loving, considerate and polite girls who I really enjoyed spending time with. We had a lot of fun together every day and I was able to learn a lot from them. They were also able to learn a bit of German from me and Elisa even learned a few boxing techniques. Dario (the father) is a very funny man with whom I always had a lot to laugh about. Together we hiked up to the "Passo di Verva" and were fascinated by the marmots. Ersilia (the mother) is a very inspiring and loving woman full of joie de vivre. We have had many profound and enriching conversations together that have made our bond a very special one. The family has made my first experience with Workaway a very special one, through which I can now explore the world openly and joyfully, knowing that I will always have a place in their hearts. I can only recommend everyone to take the opportunity to spend time with these lovely people.

I stayed for 6 weeks in Grosio and I had the most wonderful experience! The whole region is beautiful (lakes, mountains, castles, waterfalls) and they made sure that I see a lot of it. By having your own studio with a kitchen, bathroom and everything, you have your own privacy and space.
