Hello, We are Sylvie and David. We own a house and a 2-hectare plot of land. David is very handy and knows how to do many things in different areas. Sylvie likes to cook, take care of the vegetable garden and the garden (as does David), make pottery, basket weaving, and tinker. We spend a lot of time outside taking care of the outdoors: our lifestyle choice does not lack activities.
We are self-sufficient in food, electricity, heating, and water. We do a lot of things ourselves: our vegetable garden, preserving fruits and vegetables for the whole year (sterilization, lactofermentation, dehydration, fruit leather), our firewood, and the maintenance of our place. We have a large organic vegetable garden that feeds us all year round, a greenhouse, an orchard with many fruit trees (apples, pears, currants, raspberries, kiwis, figs, nashis, peaches, plums, rhubarb, strawberries, blueberries, blackcurrants, etc.) and a forest, we live in the form of agroecology. We have cats and chickens. We are vegetarians. We do not eat industrial products, here everything is homemade and organic. We are smokers. We live in a small village of 100 inhabitants, close to the very famous Vassivière lake. Swimming, hiking (on foot or by bike) are very popular activities as the nature here is so beautiful. We are surrounded by many lakes and forests. The environment is very healthy: here no intensive farming, no pesticides or other chemicals, no factories, no airports. The fauna and flora are rich and varied, and we see foxes, deer, and other animals.
We volunteer in different associations and know many kind people. Here, solidarity and the associative world are very present. During the summer months, there are many activities and tourists (it is not the Côte d'Azur either). Tourism here is "green": campers There is a small town with everything you need 5 km from us (all shops, a train station, bank, doctors, dentists, pharmacy, cinema, etc.).
In order to maintain everyone's privacy, we provide you with a nice caravan with electricity and water on our land, with a "private" dry toilet (just for you). The caravan is fully equipped (dishes, bed linen and towels, etc.). The washing machine is also at your disposal to wash your laundry. Even though we are vegetarians, we don't forbid you from eating meat: you can eat what you want but you will have to prepare your meat dish yourself. We provide a barbecue or cooking equipment. Otherwise, meals are homemade with seasonal produce from our vegetable garden. There is space for your van if you are nomadic. What can you do here? Help mow the lawn (2/3 mowings in the year to preserve biodiversity as much as possible, but there is a lot of surface area and a lot of trees so it takes time), maintain the hedges and trees, harvest vegetables.
This summer we are going to put up a new ganivelles fence (small wooden fence) around the vegetable garden (our chickens are free-range - except at night because beware of foxes -, so it is the vegetable garden that is fenced). We will also "clean" the small forest that we have, by making a path across it (we are well equipped) and take the opportunity to make our firewood for next winter. And why not bring "something beautiful", your style, your personal touch that will mark your passage, whether you have the soul of an artist (or not), such as painting the exterior of the caravan, improving the terrace in front of the caravan, beautifying the chicken coop, making mosaics on the steps leading to the garden, or whatever you want to do to leave a memory. Our deal for the exchange is 20/25 hours of help per week in exchange for accommodation and meals. You will do what you want with your free time, accompany us if you want during the many festive evenings organized throughout the summer. We have welcomed woofers - and have already been woofers too - because the richness of cultural exchange is a chance to learn from each other, and a beautiful human adventure. We speak English... and of course French. We have traveled extensively as backpackers around the world, especially in Asia.

Nous sommes Sylvie et David. Nous possédons une maison et un terrain de 2 hectares.
David est très bricoleur et sait faire beaucoup de choses dans différents domaines.
Sylvie aime cuisiner, s’occuper du potager et du jardin (ainsi que David), faire de la poterie, de la vannerie, et bricoler.
Nous passons beaucoup de temps dehors à nous occuper des extérieurs : notre choix de vie ne manque pas d’activités.
Nous sommes autonomes en nourriture, électricité, chauffage et en eau.
Nous faisons beaucoup de choses par nous même : notre potager, la conservation des fruits et légumes pour toute l'année (stérilisation, lactofermentation, déshydratation, cuir de fruits), notre bois de chauffage et l'entretien de notre lieu.
Nous avons un grand potager bio qui nous nourrit toute l'année, une serre, un verger avec de nombreux fruitiers (pommes, poires, groseilles, framboises, kiwis, figues, nashis, pêches, prunes, rhubarbe, fraises, myrtilles, cassis, etc...) et une forêt, nous vivons sous forme d'agroécologie.
Nous avons des chats et des poules.
Nous sommes végétariens. Nous ne mangeons pas de produits industriels, ici tout est fait maison et bio. Nous sommes fumeurs.
Nous vivons dans un petit village de 100 habitants, proche du très connu lac de Vassivière. Les baignades, randonnées (à pieds ou à vélo) sont des activités très prisées tellement la nature ici est de toute beauté. Nous sommes entourés de nombreux lacs et de forêts.
L'environnement est très sain : ici pas de culture intensive, pas de pesticide ni autres produits chimiques, pas d'usine, pas d'aéroport. La faune et la flore sont riches et variées, et on aperçoit le renard, le chevreuil, et d'autres animaux.
Nous sommes bénévoles dans différentes associations et connaissons beaucoup de monde bienveillant. Ici la solidarité et le monde associatif sont très présents.
Durant les mois d’été, il y a beaucoup d’animations et des touristes (ce n’est pas non plus la Côte d’Azur). Le tourisme ici est « vert » : des campeurs
Il y a une petite ville avec tout le nécessaire à 5 kms de chez nous (tous les commerces, une gare, banque, médecins, dentistes, pharmacie, cinéma, etc).
Afin de garder l'intimité de chacun, nous mettons à ta disposition une jolie caravane avec électricité et eau sur notre terrain, avec des toilettes sèches "privées" (rien que pour toi). La caravane est tout équipée (vaisselle, linge de lit et linge de toilette, etc).
La machine à laver est également à ta disposition pour laver ton linge.
Même si nous sommes végétariens, nous n'interdisons pas que tu manges de la viande : tu manges ce que tu veux mais il faudra préparer ton plat de viande toi-même. On met à disposition un barbecue ou de quoi cuisiner.
Sinon les repas sont faits maison avec les productions saisonnières de notre potager.
Il y a de la place pour ton van si tu es nomade.
Que peux tu faire ici ?
Aider à tondre la pelouse (2/3 tontes dans l’année afin de préserver au maximum la biodiversité, mais il y a beaucoup de surface et beaucoup d’arbres donc ça prend du temps), l’entretien des haies et des arbres, la récolte des légumes.
Cet été nous allons poser une nouvelle clôture en ganivelles (petite clôture en bois) autour du potager (nos poules sont en liberté – sauf le nuit car attention au renard - , c’est donc le potager qui est clôturé).
Nous allons également « nettoyer » la petite forêt que nous avons, en faisant un chemin en travers (nous sommes bien outillés) et en profiter pour faire notre bois de chauffage pour l’hiver prochain.
Et pourquoi pas apporter "du beau", ton style, ta touche personnelle qui marquera ton passage, que tu aies l'âme d'un.e artiste (ou pas) , comme par exemple peindre l'extérieur de la caravane, améliorer la terrasse devant la caravane, embellir le poulailler, faire de la mosaïque sur les marches des escaliers menant au jardin, ou ce que tu auras envie de faire pour y laisser un souvenir.
Notre deal pour l’échange c’est 20/25 heures d’aide par semaine contre l’hébergement et les repas.
Tu feras ce que tu veux de ton temps libre, nous accompagner si tu le veux lors des nombreuses soirées festives organisées durant tout l’été. Nous avons accueilli des woofers - et avons déjà été woofers également - car la richesse de l'échange culturel est une chance pour apprendre des uns et des autres, et une belle aventure humaine.
Nous parlons anglais… et bien sûr français.
Nous avons beaucoup voyagé en mode routard à travers le monde, et surtout en Asie.

What can you do here? The caravan is fully equipped (dishes, bed linen and towels, etc.). The bed is very comfortable. There are plenty of cupboards to store your belongings. The washing machine is also at your disposal to wash your clothes. Even though we are vegetarians, we don't forbid you from eating meat: you eat what you want but you will have to prepare your meat dish yourself. We provide a barbecue or cooking equipment. Otherwise, meals are homemade with seasonal produce from our vegetable garden.
There is room for your van if you are nomadic.

Afin de garder l'intimité de chacun, nous mettons à ta disposition une jolie caravane avec électricité et eau sur notre terrain, avec des toilettes sèches "privées" (rien que pour toi). La caravane est tout équipée (vaisselle, linge de lit et linge de toilette, etc). Le lit est très confortable. Il y a beaucoup d'armoires pour y ranger tes affaires.
