We are an NGO located the the Arusha region of Tanzania. We strive to increase environmental conservation through birding and afforestation. We offer educational classes in English, birding and natural history for our members, increasing their knowledge as they seek employment in the tourism sector.
In addition, we understand the challenges of deforestation across our continent, and are committed to educating students in local schools about the vital role trees play in the environment. Through school visits and tree planting programs, Tanzanian youth are learning the value healthy forests play in their future.
The members make monthly outings to clean up trash in various communities around Arusha, improving the environment and setting an example for young people in the villages.
In addition, in our classrooms in the Leganga suburb of Arusha, women are trained to use computers, enhancing skills that will help them succeed in their future employment.
We welcome volunteers who would like a more in-depth experience of life in Tanzania. Native speakers can add a lot to our English classes, and volunteers are encouraged to contribute their special skills to other aspects of our programs.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

During school and college visits, you will be able to learn how Tanzanian culture, experience our hospitality, and learn about our local environment. And you will get an opportunity to learn about our African birds and animals and their behaviors.
You may choose to visit our attractions like national parks, forest reserves, museums, and waterfalls. Our house is located only a 20 minute drive from Arusha National Park and a 1 hour drive from Moshi town at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa at 5,895 meters.Ayuda
Volunteers with diverse skills are invited to work with us especially those who have passion to conserve the environment and community well-being. People we work with are in need of help in various areas of education, language practice, tourism, hospitality, marketing and fundraising.
During the school year we can use help from native speakers in the English classes we offer to our club members as well as in our associated Attraction Bush College (tour guide college) classes. Past volunteers have assisted with English, photography, natural history and birding ……… Tell us your passion and we will find a way for you to help us.
Classes are scheduled five days a week when school is in session and weekends are free, though there are often group birding walks in the surrounding area and occasional activities such as tree planting and community clean up.
During your stay you will have a chance to go on birding outings around the area, improve your Swahili language skills, if interested, and receive recommendations on nearby attractions – waterfall hikes, safaris and cultural visits.Idiomas hablados

You will stay in a simple African house with a secure fenced yard in Leganga village about one half hour by public transport from Arusha town. Our volunteer rooms with bunk beds are adjacent to a western style toilet, sink and shower. We provide mosquito nets. Traditional Tanzanian style food is provided three times a day (Rice, Ugali, beans, vegetables, eggs from our chickens, and fruit), prepared by our local chef but you will also be able to cook for yourself if you wish. You will share the house with our staff, and many of our students and bird club members come for meals so there is a true family atmosphere and cultural exchange at the Blue House, as it is known.
