Descripción
We'll be travelling to see our family for the first half of the summer and our animals will need a friendly companion.
Ginger is a basque sheep dog, sweet and well behaved. Maui is a mature indoor/outdoor cat, she's also very well behaved and seems to know how to tell time. We also have two goldfish, one of whom is an acrobatic trickster.
They are easy to care for and make great company. There is an extensive nature reserve just minutes walk from the house for walking with the dog.
Also in the neighbourhood , just up the street is an outdoor pool (day passes can be purchased).
We live in a quiet area with lots of little natural pockets of land amongst the houses. There is regular bus service direct to the centre of Madrid, about 40 min ride away.
It's a 10 minute bike ride to town, with grocery stores, library, community centre (lots of interesting stuff going on in the summer) , pharmacy etc...
The house is a bungalow and has two bedrooms plus another room we use as a studio/office space. The kitchen is modern and the living space is open with a walk out to a private patio that wraps around with access from each of the rooms as well. The basement stays cool and is a nice spot for yoga practice. There's airconditioning on the main level as well.
Please noto, many of the photos are for our home in the country, in Cantabria, where we often have workawayers come to help us out, but the house sit is for our place in Madrid - in the description it will indicate which it pertains to: Madrid or Cantabria.

These two have been with us for a few years and have had many names, our house sitters often like to rename them.
Maüi
Maüi is about 12 years old, she came to us as a kitten from some friends. She´s friendly and independant, having grown up as an outdoor cat, becoming more and more fond of petting as she´s gotten older. She´s adapted well to being an indoor/outdoor cat with our move to town.
Ginger (7 años)
Ginger is a fun and friendly family companion, always keen for some time outside or some petting. She's a Basque sheep dog, and has grew up in the countryside, with our move she's adapted easily to life in town.

I (Paul) walked every day to the house to help with the dogs, horses, and chickens.
In the evening we cooked the diner together.
We had a very lovely 2 weeks with Jasmine and Emeric, Javi was away to Germany.
