Our Rainforest is establishing the ancient ecosystem of original rainforest by re-planting and restoring 15 hectares (150,000 sqm) of former sugar cane land south of the Daintree River area. We also care for native wildlife, such as the Spectacled Flying Fox and the Little Red Flying Fox.

They will learn how important it is to maintain a healthy eco system, provide habitat for native wildlife and care for native wildlife, such as Flying Foxes, micro bats and other little critters such as bandicoots, possums and monitor lizards.
The volunteering for the accomodation is 3h a day and includes gardening, weeding, tree planting and general maintenance.
If you'd like to help with the native wildlife such as Flying Foxes, which includes preparing food or cleaning the flight cage, we kindly ask you to be vaccinated for Rabies virus. Our bats are healthy, but it is a requirement from Queensland Health.
We require a handy person with commitment, cleanliness and a sense of humour.

The Daintree Rainforest is at your doorstep and the nearest shopping center is appr. 20km away in Mossman. There is a servo in Wonga Beach (7km) to provide you with hot food and a small shop. It is preferable to own a car but not a necessity. We generally go shopping on your day of arrival, so you can get the things you like for breakfast. Lunch is generally sandwiches. I supply the ingredients, you have to make it yourself. Dinner will be provided.
