Myself and my partner Tom left London 3 years ago after buying a house in the hills in Northern Tuscany. Tom is still occasionally working in London but i am now a resident here. I am a painter - The house has been an ongoing labour of love! The house is now almost finished but we thought this might be an opportunity for us to offer a stay in the 2 bed apartment we have rented in our local village Riolo in exchange for some help getting bit's and pieces completed (like painting walls, plastering or general clearing up)

Ayuda
Our house is almost complete - there would be a variety of building related things to do - from mixing plaster by hand to manning the cement mixer to whitewashing walls - Tom is a skilled builder and knows a huge amount about water and heating systems! If you enjoy gardening we have terraces which are constantly having to be strimmed and bamboo which needs to be cut back as quickly as it grows -

We have rented a 2 bedroomed apartment in our local village Riolo - it has 2 beds in one bedroom and a double bed in another - as we have moved to the main house now this apartment is free for volunteeers - Bagni di Lucca centre is about a 50 minute walk down the valley but we go into town regularly and there is a bus service into Lucca which is about 26km away from Bagni di Lucca. We would stock up the fridge for breakfast but otherwise we would all eat together at the house apart from the days when volunteers are out and about exploring Tuscany.
Algo más...
Bagni di Lucca is a spa town and is about a half hour bus or train ride into Lucca - from where you can get a train to Pisa or Florence or Rome - trains are very cheap in Italy so it's very affordable to explore. We are going to the West Coast of Scotland on holiday and are back on the 6th of August so we are looking to host volunteers anytime from the 6th of August to the end of September

Jenny is very warm and welcoming, she is a great cook and lots of fun to be with.
She has gone out of her way to show us around.
The work was enjoyable and rewarding.
We feel we have made a wonderful new friend through this experience.
