Katyia and Edoardo we're lovely workawayers! Really easy to communicate with, flexible and helpful. They had good ideas to share and were great at problem solving. Katyia took some great photos for me and Edoardo did a great job of treating some old beams, amongst other things. They got on well with the other workawayers, cooked and socialised

My partner and I spent a week at the end of April at Lara's house in Olvera, and it was a wonderful experience.
The place is magnificent, surrounded by nature and a place stopped in time, and Lara was incredibly supportive, making us feel at home right from the start. The work was well organised, leaving us time to explore the surroundings.

Shweta was a lovely person to have in the house! I only had tasks that needed specific skills when she arrived but it was super to have her there. She did some cleaning, which is always very useful in a big old house and crucially watered my huge amount of plants. She was a very nice person to chat to and I would be happy to host her again. Thanks

I stayed at Lara's house for a week in November 2024.It was an amazing experience. Lara is incredibly helpful. She helped me to organize my travel to and from Olvera and also with tips about Olvera things to do. She is very responsive and communicative and sweet. The house itself is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. It's fully

Michael and Sophia were amazing workawaying team! I'm so incredibly grateful for the massive amount of help and stuff they did in the relatively short about of time they were at the house. Painting, building a little wall round my tree etc. They're far more competent than me and it's always awesome to get some sound, confident feedback and help

They were beyond helpful, did some pragmatic problem solving and were just generally awesome workawayers. I'm keeping fingers and toes crossed they're able to come back again!Fotos

Such a nice and cozy place. I stayed with Lara for three weeks in her beautiful house. The jobs were easy and super flexible, I painted some doors, did some sanding and wood treatment. Lara is a genuinely nice person, she always checked in on how I felt about the jobs, which ones I preferred. She was very helpful with anything I needed or giving

This is a great place to relax, recharge, enjoy the little town, have endless lemons from the lemon tree in the middle of the house, have dinners with an amazing view from the terrace on the roof.
Thank you for everything Lara! :)Dejado por el anfitrión para el workawayer (Claudia)
Claudia is a lovely workawayer and I'm so happy she was able to come and help. She has a really nice energy, is very calm and great to communicate with. She's very patient and a really good listener.

She's Independent and seems comfortable to just get on with things on her own, and happy in her own company so I didn't have to keep worrying about her being lonely, entertained etc. However she also got on great with another workawayer which was also super. Her friend came to join her for part of her stay as well and I felt they found a nice balance working together while making it more fun that boring diy tasks. She got on with lots of things (painting, oiling wood etc) and nothing was a problem. The main thing beyond all that - and probably the most important - was that she felt so trustworthy and capable. I hope she's able to come again in the future, either as a workawayer or just to hang out and enjoy the house.

Lara & Olvera were amazing!
I stayed there for almost 3 weeks and I loved the place from the beginning until the end. Unfortunately I could not get to know Lara herself, but even though I never met her, it felt like I build up kind of a relationship with her during my stay. She was always reachable, helpful, patient and empathetic, as well as she

My tasks were mostly sanding and painting, but as there are different things to do in the house, I could always choose what I would like to do. On my days off, which I could choose by myself, I visited several places in the surrounding like Ronda, Setenil or Grazalema. There are plenty of things to do and if you have a car - no problem. Public transport is rare, but there are some bus connections to those places (better check that at the bus station or ask Lara, the online schedules lie :D). There also is a really good mountain bike, which I used a couple of times, but it's reaaally steep overthere and it was always exhausting to get the house. Even by foot :D What I enjoyed a lot was that Olvera is not a touristic place like some of the other white villages and I felt like really getting in touch with the real andalusian culture.
All in all a 10/10! I'd love to come

Sophia was an incredible workawayer! She did a huge amount of stuff while she was at the house, probably more than the average workawayer I would say, I feel so grateful and would love to have paid her for all the work she got stuck into in the time she was here. I think she maybe ‘undersells’ her súper skills and ability to get stuff done. I

I loved having Raquel and Luis stay at the house. It was nice to be able to host then and felt special to be their first workaway experience. They kind of covered all bases on my big list of things I needed help with, from keeping my plants alive to restructuring walls. Luis was great flying around town on the bike trying to sort my tile dilemma

I’m so glad Maddy was able to come and help me out! Workawaying can be a bit of a surprise and you can never tell who is going to arrive or how it’s going to work out (and I guess that’s one of the appeals of workaway) - so I felt incredibly lucky to find Maddy.
She’s kind of that ‘perfect workawayer’ - amazingly capable and an awesome character

She’s far more capable than me and helped me work out lots of things, through her pragmatism and can-do attitude, and has a wise intelligent mind. Something that is also a great strength is she’s incredibly easy going and seems to be comfortable in whatever situation and with whatever age of person. She also made an awesome pie 🥰 I’d love to have Maddy come stay again!

Thank you for such a lovely 10 days in Olvera! I’m so grateful for the time I spent here and cannot wait to see Lara’s vision for the house come to life. Lara is a ray of sunshine! She is such a welcoming person and an amazing host. She was very conscious of working hours, giving options for tasks, keeping the days interesting and always making sure I was having a good time! I am so glad our paths crossed. I know I’ll be back someday and look forward to digging into more of Lara’s pies, mole, and of course, taking advantage of our shared love of desserts!!
