Hello.
I'm Ciannait. I live on the very beautiful Beara Peninsula in West Cork, in the south west of Ireland. I am looking for one or two workawayers to help me pack up my house. I am a cancer survivor, a kidney transplant recipient and a home haemodialysis patient. I have just sold my house and I'm moving to Cork city to be closer to the hospital. I need a couple of people to help me pack up and move.
The youngest of my three daughters lives at home with me. May middle daughter and my granddaughter are also living with me at present but are due to move into their own house in August. We have three dogs and a cat.
The Beara peninsula is in county Cork in the South of Ireland. We are 5 minutes walk from the sea. There is a really nice pub less than 1km from us, the nearest village is 5km away, and the town 12km.
There is a beautiful Tibetan Buddhist Centre, Dzogchen Beara, about 12 km away also. There is horse-riding, yoga, gym, Irish dancing, music sessions, beautiful walks, art galleries, the mountains, the sea and more.
This placement would suit workawayers who love to go hiking, running and/or sea swimming. Where we live is quiet and rural.
I offer you full bed and board in exchange for 20 hours help a week.

There is a lot to learn about nature and the Irish culture locally. We love music and have an interest in traditional Irish music. We play a little piano and sing quite a lot. I am relearning Irish and trying to introduce more Irish speaking at home. We're interested in art and culture.

You can work your hours however you like and I encourage workawayers to spend time exploring Beara. There are lots of great wild camping spots and campsites also.
There is very limited local transport service, so you must be willing to walk, hitch lifts or cycle. You have the use of an electric bicycle.

Maëlis is lovely, hard-working, kind and funny. We enjoyed her company immensely. We’re looking forward to her returning to us in the autumn. Her English is not perfect but its good enough and she’s improving all the time. Well able to complete the tasks asked of her.

Ciannait knew how to welcome me with open arms! I thank her! I only spent 3 days here because I'm traveling with my camper van but it was great! I enjoyed helping this family and these animals!! I would like to stay there longer

We really enjoyed our time at Ciannait's place! We loved the dogs and had a good time with the kids. Castletownbere has beautiful landscapes and going out in town is great fun- We met a lot of nice guys.

The girls are young and so they needed direction but once shown what to do they didn't need to be shown twice. They were enthusiastic and conscientious. We were so sad when Vincent left, I wish he could have stayed much longer; a really lovely gentle soul. He was mostly helping me with the housework because I am in poor health and he didn't stop working from the moment he got up til he went to bed. He never had to be shown twice how to do something. He was always enthusiastic and ready to help.

Lucas, not Mucas that's a typo, was a pleasure to have stay. He did every job well and was always enthusiastic. In the evenings he kept to himself mostly and read. I spent 3 weeks in Ciannait's and Andrew's and it was 3 very good weeks.
The family is very friendly, easy to live and open minded. They never will ask too much to you. Theremore the area is beautiful, the house is always busy (you will can meet so many friends of the family) and the girls are friendly and funny.
